i successfully grafted an asian pear branch on the tree. first time, yea! it is so much easier than citrus tree grafting.

right now, the tree has about 10 new leaves and one leave from the asian graft. the original tree's leaves feel smooth.

i am tempted to cut the original tree, so the graft can grow.

i wonder if

1. if the original tree will ever be able to produce some pears in the future?

2. is it easy to grow pear tree? i only have one, will it self pollinate?

thanks.
