Third party custom panel dishwasher with Ikea cabinetry

Hello,

I'm planning to use Bosch integrated custom panel dishwasher with Ikea cabinetry.

Can regular 24"x30" Ikea door be used as cover panel for the dishwasher?

Has anybody done it?

Hello, I'm in the process of this same problem. I'm going with the bosh 800 dishwasher panel ready. I Hurd they changed the ikea cabinets last year which caused some problems with regular dishwashers closing and opening. I have done some research and have found what I hope is the solution to our problem. Google Adapt-R 2.0 . my cabinets show up this weekend so I will see if it works without this adapt r panel. Keep you posted.

I will have Bosch 800 DLX too. Who sells Adapt-R 2.0? I only found one site in Netherlands.

Won't that thing add some thickness? Will the DW door be flush with the rest of cabinetry?

Please let me know how the things work out.

Some people have had problems with the weight of the panel--the door wouldn't stay open and the hinges were only so adjustable. But those things shouldn't slip! We installed temporary panels (Ikea's cheapest and wow were they cheap) on our new dishdrawers while waiting for the remodel because we needed some handles and it's really pretty straighforward. Every dishwasher is different of course, but maybe you need to grab a highlighter and mark the instructions for the guy. It shouldn't be hard. And yes, you should get that bit of lifted veneer taken care of. There's going to be moisture around the DW eventually, and that's the last place you can have imperfect veneer!

I have looked at several options, not at thrilled with any of them. Semihandmade does not offer a lot of choices and the quality is surprisingly poor in my opinion, also bad customer service reviews. Kokeena looks beautiful but seemed very $$$ did not even request samples I mean what's the point? Architectural Digest I am not. Scherr's found website confusing and disorganized, not sure I ever found the doors online and did not really want to! Then somehow I happened upon The Cabinet Face and was, like, FINALLY!!!!!! I am still in the planning phase but if this company is at good as it looks, I will definitely work them. They seem to have several options, but not too many, including wood veneers and glass doors. And best of all (gasp) their pricing structure is refreshingly transparent. This was a welcomed first. It really helps to know when making these decisions roughly what painting versus MDF etc costs; there's even a cost comparison estimate with all styles compared to Ringhult. Again, just enough enough information. I don't want to buy from a company that isn't transparent. What's the point? It should be the quality of one's experience that brings customers back.

We did what you are considering with a cover panel to help support the countertop between our dishwasher and apron front sink; we notched out the bottom and ran toe kick in front of it. If you put a cover panel between your DW and stove (notched out or not), I would also put one on the other side of the stove or the DW so it looks symmetrical and "planned". Hillside House has a good point about countertop heights. I would measure very carefully to see that your countertops won't end up higher than 37" There is a gap of about 1/4 inch between the top of the cabinet and the countertop to take into account. It may very well be fine, but as you said, now is the time to be sure. Also check your dishwasher specs. I thought I had our measurements planned down to the fraction of an inch with our Ikea cabinets, but our countertops still ended up being 1/4-1/2 inch high than I expected, though that worked out well for us.

With the adapt r 2.0. You take the Bosch inside panel off with a few screws and replace it with the adapt r. I believe it does not add to the thickness just replaces the hinge system on the bottom so it clears the toe kick. I will keep you posted.

I have a Bosch 800 with an Ikea Bjorket 24 x 30 door panel. It worked fine, though it was close, only due to where the mounting hardware needed to be placed on the back of the door. If your door style has a flush surface back, that isn't a concern.

The accepted panel height is different on the bosh 24 than on the 18. The 24” will take up to 30.6” whereas the 18” will take between a 26” to 28” height door max. The only 18” dishwasher on the market I’ve found at 18” width to accept a 30” is the Miele G4780SCVI

Ikea 18x30 panel is actually 17 7/8 x 29 7/8. As you can see Bosch panel can be within 17 1/4 - 17 1/2 x 25 3/4 - 28 1/4. The width shouldn’t be a problem (they even mention it can be 18” wide). The problem is the height, Ikea panels are much taller. Bosch 18” dishwashers are ADA compliant, so they can be adapted (lowered) for use with 34” tall kitchen counters instead of standard 36”.
