Hydrangea care - droppy leaves and buds but moist soil

Hi! I live in Dallas, Texas and am new to the gardening scene. I bought some hydrangeas on sale from Lowe's over the weekend and planted them under a tree in the front yard but they're looking terribly sad! I gave them new soil, fertilized and watered them. When I first bought them, they were very droopy, the stems were all over the place an unable to keep their flowers up on their own. After being planted for a couple of days, the stems are now able to stand on their own but the leaves and petals are still sad and droopy. They get morning sun but are in the shade for most of the day. Any advise would be great! Thank you in advance.
