My SDB iris are blooming already,

the first one bloomed March 31, & had about another one blooming each day since. This is at least a week early. I have bloom stalks on some of the tall beardeds already too, I don't normally see blooms on any of them til at least the last of this month.

Wizard of Hope and a purple NOID also bloomed, but the blooms had faded before I got a photo. I think Wizard of Hope only sent out one tentative bloom & decided it was too cold to put out another for a while.

Lovely. Toronto is in Zone 6+6b, but we are expecting around 5 " of snow soon.

Hi there: Would be interested in a possible trade. do you have a picture of your iris? I have some hyacinths, daffodils (No pink) and mixed tulips, also some butterscoth colored sdbs to trade.Have some NOID historic purple, some whites and pale yellow. Cand sen picture of the iris,do not want any more of some I already have so pictures or names would be goood. Might be able to come up with other trade ideas on my end if your iris shoud be something I would be interested in. How tall are your iris? Hi Catstone I would be interested in trading iris . Not sure what your terms mdb and sdb stand for ( I am guessing bearded iris ?) feel free to correct me if I am wrong LOL ! I have lots of different colored iris and I have siberian iris too ....I will take some pics and can email them to you if you will do the same for me . Maybe we can work a trade. My white-flowered irises have been blooming about a week now, but that's pretty much standard here. Except when Easter falls in the last week of March, my irises almost always bloom before Easter. This year I think the first bloom opened on Easter or the day after. We had temps hit 32 and 33 last week and it didn't hurt the blooms on mine at all, but they may have been protected by nearby shrubs.

Boo is a really prolific grower too, really wonderful in bloom. I have problems with some SDBs for some reason. I like the name too, irisgal!

Brr, inga! Our weather has been up and down here, 70s one day, & low 50s the next. Lots of stuff blooming or in bud, with temps expected to get in the low 30s Sat & Sun nights. My lilies are almost all up, I don't think it will get cold enough to hurt them, keeping my fingers crossed though.
