I'd never heard of a Karran sink before. I've learned so much here! I thought it might be hard to clean, since it's fiberglass, but the description on their website doesn't make it sound that way. I thought, from looking at the FKB, that you had Corian counter tops, but I guess note. What brand of laminate do you have? Is it the regular, thinner laminate. That's great they could do that. I looked at your pictures and it looks good to me. Is there some kind of edging applied where the laminate is cut for the sink? I was looking at the thicker laminates, in part, because I thought that they couldn't put an undermount sink in with the regular laminate. Obviously, that's not entirely true. Now I need to go do a Google search and find out what Counter-Seal is and how it works.

I just had to post here...OMG...the lady that wrote Laminate and luxurious in the same sentence.."NO". I hope I never have to meet someone like you in my lifetime. What a bunch of snobby, snarky..people! I am sorry..I think you can have a beautiful, luxurious kitchen without paying for granite, quartz, soapstone...etc. My goodness. I am building a house now and get to hear from our subs about all of the snooty women that they have to deal with...literally walking out of a house because the closets aren't big enough... What kind of country have we become? I say..if you want to buy high end appliances...beautiful cabinets..and put it all in a laminate kitchen. I think it can be stunning! Don't listen to all of these snooty fruities.....do what YOU want..and the people that matter...won't walk into your kitchen and take a mental note of your laminate..I would think it was beautiful! And for those of you who think that I must be some low life...my husband is a doctor! There....rant over! :-)

These are my pics of my countertops placed Friday June 22, 2018. I cried looking at these seams. It looks so cheap. Fabricator explains that's the way it comes. I explained that I shouldn't be able to see the seams so clearly. It looks so unprofessional. They ended up taking them back to their warehouse. In hopes they say if it is quality control will try and fix it just to make it look better. Otherwise I will have to pay an additional fee for them to come out again to install. I just don't know what to do and if still looks the same. This is the first time I've replaced my counters in 24 years. I don't and can't live with it. looking at this for another 24 years. It looks so cheap and it really was not it's a lot of money to me. I hope fingers crossed that they will fix this problem. They never told me that there would be such seams. I thought the edges were done by a machine and it would be all one piece. I have read up on this and now understand there are seams. But now I do know that they should not look like this. If they are good fabricator you shouldn't be able to see them so clearly. I will find out next week what happens.

Wilsonart HD has aluminum oxide in the top finish, making it much more scratch resistant than standard laminate. You've got a sample. Try to scratch it with normal use like dragging a coffee cup across it. It's tough as nails. That is why Wilsonart can offer a gloss finish in it without having the disclaimer that it is for a vertical surface only. Formica gets around the scratching on their gloss surfaces because that "vertical surface" disclaimer is in the fine print. People do the Blackstar Granite all the time on regular counters, and because it's Formica, yes, it will scratch a bit, and yes, if you have hard water, it will show water spots. So will granite. If you get anything shiny, it will show water spots if you have issues with your water. If you want a basic granite, you can get close to a HD laminate in pricing. If you want anything else, maybe not. It depends on your actual layout. Oh, and the Seaglass is only in the gloss finish, as far as I'm aware. That was how it was introduced anyway, and if they've changed that, I'm not aware of it.
