Tide Original Scent Powder HE
Comments (2)Just goes to show you -- different people react differently to the same scents. I bought a box of the Tide original scent powdered He detergent and had to throw it out after just two loads. I found the scent totally over-powering and obnoxious in the extreme. I could still smell it two weeks later, each time I went into the laundry room. TOTALLY REVOLTING!! I'm sticking with Persil Megaperls, even though it costs an arm and a leg. I get excellent cleaning results, and it leaves practically no scent behind in my laundry. Anyway, as hard as it is for me to believe that anything could overwhelm the noxious scent in Tide He powder, I'll bet if you skip the fabric softener or use and unscented variety, you'll be able to enjoy the unadulterated Tide He scent. Different strokes for different folks......See MoreTide Original Pods now "he turbo"
Comments (5)Unicorn on an April glitter day!!! Too funny :) Sadly I'm too traumatized to try the pods again. So many clothes came out of the dryer, with the clear pod fused to fabrics!!! I am liking the he turbo though. No suds to worry about. Makes me think of the vintage tide ads. If I remember correctly it was something like "just wash wring, and done!! No Rinsing!!!" Hmm...I'm gonna google it. Such advertising makes me shocked!!!! The thought of not rinsing out detergent? Maybe it cut down on the need for starch? lol...See MoreMORE Classic, Original Tide HE powder arrived :)
Comments (52)Elizabeth...I agree about the real original Tide, not much could ever beat that scent, but you will find here many refer to the Tide scent change in the 70's as the original Tide scent. Probably because they are too young to recall the Real original Tide LOL. I have to say...powders can and will decompose over time if they were stored in wet or humid conditions..they can also lose their scent if they are stored in warehouses with no temp control...that being said if you find a box of powder that is free flowing its most likely fine. Store it away from water sources, humidity, and bright light and it should be fine for many many years......P&G is not going to get into all of this other than what the experation date is for various reasons. Like Mich I also have found discontinued detergents/scents more often in pharmacys that are in great new condition. Probably because a pharmacy isn't selling a lot of it so it sits on a shelf in a nice climate controlled store. But let that nice box you find sit in your laundry room on a shelf and not use it, than boom its going to be clumps in a short period of time from the humid room. It all depends on the condition of the powder detergent when you get it and how you store it as to whether its going to still be stable in 10 years....See MoreTide with bleach and tide original scent
Comments (7)I can't physically handle P&G scents so I use the f/g versions. However, I had a problem and needed something a little stronger. So I bought a small box of Tide original. It wasn't bad in the washer but when I took the load out of the dryer, it was like I was hit with a ton of bricks. A strong, old almost stale old ladies cheap perfume. I had to rewash the load with copious amounts of baking soda, borax, hours long soak, then a soaking vinegar rinse and finally a cycle with f/g detergent and f/g downy. I have heard that mountain spring smells like the old Tide original, at least it did before they messed with the scents. I think Walmart and Target carry it. Good Luck!...See Morelarsi_gw
