which is the better book?
Comments (28)I just got today, at Lowe's, the new Paul Zimmerman book Everyday Roses. I am getting ready to go get on the couch and start reading it. Lots of beautiful photos as I thumbed thru it but havent had a chance to look at it. But it looks lovely! I have all the Shoup/Welch books and they are wonderful! Books every rose lover should have. Another book I have really enjoyed is the Noisette Roses book - by Virginia Kean. Whetted my appetite for more noisettes.......which I ordered from Vintage. The Vintage catalog is a must have - those of you who dont have it should order it. I wonder if it will go out of print once Vintage is gone? Wonderful reference.... Comments (6)Does anyone have a copy of the 1990 issue of BH&G Cross Stitch Christmas? There is a pattern in there titled "A Merry Wreath". The saying in the center (done on wgite Aida cloth) is "Christmas is holly with berries of red & the fragrance of warm gingerbread. The front cover has a christmas stocking on it. I made this wreath when my mom was still living and it is a great memory for me and my son! It has hung on my front door every year. It was in need of some updating this year of ribbon etc and when I went to take it apart, the hot glue I had used stuck hard to the wreath and now I can't use the counted cross stitch inset. My front door is bare without this beautiful wreath. Being a single mom of a son with special needs money is tight but I would like to remake this wreath and get it back on my door. I made it when my mom was still living so it has great sentimental value for me and my son! Thanks!...See MoreTea cups in the garden or outside the home decor
Comments (24)Igloochic, I've used the clear glass teacups/saucers on a copper pipe with a tealight in each. They give a nice glow in the evening in the garden around the patio. They do fill with water when it rains so will need frequent washing. I prefer to use them this way rather than as birdfeeders as wet bird seed is not pretty and we have way too many squirrels and chipmunks to feed! I've made and sold many dozens of these 'tealights' as well as glass totems. This is the only pic I seem to have that may show better what I'm taking about. These 'tealights' are made from vintage punch cups with dessert dishes upside down under them which I've used when I run out of the cups and saucers. They have copper pipe fittings underneath so fit on a copper pipe in the garden. Love your stuff Pesky! Especially those tilted teapots! Thanks Tuesday! I'll post the link to my garden album in case anyone is interested in seeing my totems. Here is a link that might be useful: my glass garden totems...See MoreDid anyone watch Better Homes and Gardens tonight
Comments (40)I just cant watch it anymore, it's a big infomercial these days, and that tech guy pushing all the "must have" overpriced techno gimmicks is the worst. I saw renovation rescue the other week and shock horror, they actually did a place up (albeit with brand new furniture thrown in) but they didnt just rip everything down and throw it out (I usually watch these shows saying "OMG, look what they just threw in the bin!", it's the sort of stuff I usually buy and fix up, lol...See Moremissymoo12
