Taking my Easter Lily from indoors to outdoors to indoors...

My spouse has just bought me a beautiful Easter Lily (my first ever). I'm still very new to taking care of plants and flowers. We are presently renting a place in Alberta, Canada (very dry climate, with harsh winters and warm summers). I've been reading up online that the best way to take care of the Lily is that when it dies I should plant it outside and then when winter comes around cut the stem to the ground and cover with mulch. My only issue is that we are moving again in June, and I'm not even sure where.

My question is, should I risk planting it outside for a few months, and then repotting it. Or should I just leave it in its pot (knowing that the chances of blooming are minimal)?
