The 2800 isn't nearly as effective as the one with spinning brushes. If you can get your money back, DO! Review from Amazon: "We ordered the FloorMate 2800 model from the Home Shopping Network last week by mistake (paid $165, including shipping). We hadn't done enough prior research to realize there were THREE different FloorMate models, and this was the bottom-of-the-line model with immobile brushes. It went together easily; probably 10 minutes and we were ready to go. Somehow we managed to get it out of the box and assembled without noticing the brush configuration (there was no need to turn it over during assembly). I vacuumed and cleaned the white linoleum in our 500 sf kitchen in about an hour, using about 1.5 tanks of water + 3 oz of solution. It did a great job of picking up dog hair, pepper, sugar, etc, and did an OK job of cleaning the floor (still kind of dirty in the pits of the linoleum. I was disappointed that it took so long, but amazed at how filthy the water was, when we had just mopped a couple of days before. While cleaning it out I discovered it didn't have the spinning brushes. After some quick research, we found that both the 3000 and 3010 models have the spinning brushes. The 3010 model (FloorMate Plus) has only been out since Sept 2003, costs only about $35 more than we paid, and also has a longer cord and extra set of brushes. It didn't take long to decide to send back the 2080 and get the 3010. We weren't completely unhappy with the results of the 2080, but figured for $30 more, the 3010 would do even better."

I have the previous model which looks slightly different but is essentially the same machine minus some attachments from what I read. Thankfully I only paid $60 for it. I read some of the reviews mentioned above and it sounds I see many of the same complaints I have with mine. To be honest it's just a little too fussy to deal with I found and so after a few uses it just sits there. It's a bit noisy. You use it as a vacuum first to pick up all the schmutz on the floor then you use it to wash. You're supposed to empty the container before you start washing with it, that's a fuss point. When you're washing with it and sucking up the dirty water you can't do a lot of floor washing before you need to empty the container.. It doesn't seem to have enough downward pressure on the scrubbers for sticky messes. So I'm back to using my Swiffer Wet Jet for quick jobs and a good Vileda mop and matching bucket for the big all over jobs which is a whole lot faster. I would save your money or at least buy it from a place with a liberal return policy if you're not satisifed. I'm a gadget loving guy and that's one of the reasons I bought mine but this is one gadget that doesn't live up to its potential

Dianalo, you could have been describing me when you were talking about your clean floors. Sometimes I feel like I should look into getting some therapy. I don't think we are normal. Anyway, I have been very happy with my Electrolux Eurorapido cordless rechargable broom. I keep it plugged and in my den closet for constant access. It's solid quality and picks up everything, including pet hair. I can even use it on the carpet on stairs. But I am anxious to hear about your experience with the roomba. My motto is that you can never have too many vacuums!
