Thoughts - Wood tile in bath & real wood floors in adjoining area
Comments (2)You've many options and I think they'd all look nice - it's more on what you prefer. You could try to match the two surfaces. You could use a threshold that matches the hall floor, you could use a threshold that matches the bathroom floor or you could use a marble threshold (same marble as in the bath). For these last three, you could try it out with cardboard thresholds and paint, just to get an idea, with the door open and closed....See Moreshould I worry about putting a treadmill on the second floor?
Comments (16)From a personal experience, my wife moved the treadmill to a spare bedroom on the second floor of our last home. The home was only 6 years old. Anyway, the master bedroom was on the other side of the house. That thing was SO loud, it would wake me up when she worked out in the morning. The vibration, when she jogged, rattled the things on the walls. Since you live in a duplex, your neighbors may have concerns?...See Moreshould I worry about putting a treadmill on the second floor?
Comments (5)You are in effect asking whether your second floor could be affected by having a piece of furniture on it and you husband running on top of it. I have an 1820 house where the 3rd floor was built for servants, not humans apparently, and had to be massively reinforced during my renovation. It still could easily have supported several treadmills. If you are worried, and I wouldn't be, put it closer to the wall that supports the beams. They are much stronger near their ends. Also, set it up so it rests on several beams and spreads its weight among them. There are a lot of other things you can do, most of which we did, but they are dirty, expensive and time-consuming. You really don't have anything to worry about....See MoreLaminate wood floors tips and thoughts?
Comments (6)I suggest selecting a style that only has one "strip" of wood per plank. It looks more realistic than those that have 3 strips per plank. Also, don't get the cheapest, and make sure you have a good pad which helps with noise. Have used laminate in three different applications and have been pleased....See Moreuscpsycho
