Bathroom vanity lights up or down & spray paint ?
Comments (15)After digging around Decoart's site I'm assuming that is what you're talking about and I see they have a bunch of different sealers to pick from. Ha, can you tell I don't spend any time in the craft section? Anyone know if one works better than the others? I honestly know I'm not going to scrub the lights as often as I should in there so there and the hairspray makes a nice coating that's a pain to get off. Copied from website. Americana Spray Sealer is an acrylic sealer/finisher that leaves a clear, protective, non-yellowing, weatherproof coating which provides permanent protection for all painted finishes. BRUSH-ON SEALERS An acrylic, brush-on varnish that dries to a tough, durable, clear acrylic finish for most hard surface craft projects. Americana Brush-On Varnishes come in satin, matte, and gloss finishes. DURACLEAR VARNISHES Brush-on polyurethane, non-yellowing varnishes that form a tough, flexible, clear finish that dries quickly. MULTI-PURPOSE SEALER Ideal sealer designed to adhere to all surfaces for indoor and outdoor use. Its superior adhesiveness, smoothness and durability enable its use on virtually any hard, paintable surface....See MoreBathroom Reveal, Thanks to the Bathroom and Remodel Forums!X-Post
Comments (6)Lovely! I like the classic white tile and porcelain and how you used furniture pieces in the bathroom. I love that the storage at the end of the tub has pull-outs that can be reached from the toilet. Your custom sink and backsplash and counter are unique and beautiful. Yours may be the first bathroom sink I have seen in which a small or medium dog could be washed! That is a good thing! I showed your pictures to my DH because I am thinking of classic tiled walls with a chair rail for when we redo our bath in a couple of years. He liked it! I was expecting him to say, "too old fashioned." He did not, he said it looked nice. From him, nice is a compliment. He even liked your rows of listello. I was just at the Tile Shop's site the other day looking at the Hampton tiles because someone was selling some on Craigslist. I am hoping to do as you did and get what I can cheaper there, and fill in the rest from the store. I can see that you worked very hard to secure all of your materials - and then cut the floor tiles to size and culled the Hampton tiles, too! You succeeded very well in getting the look you wanted while saving money along the way. Congratulations, and thank you for the pictures and great detail and supply list....See MoreIf I get a new bathroom mirror, what do I do with the old one?
Comments (26)"Here I am thinking of safety etc. and he never thinks anything bad can happen" Oh Piper101, I deal with this at least once a day in my home. Didn't think anyone else had this little 'problem'. Yes, different how they think, huh? lol MsRose, Personally, I love the big mirror look in bathrooms. Maybe because I've only ever had very small bathrooms with just enough room for the itty-bitty medicine cabinets with mirror doors. Would love your mirror! If it were my mirror and I had removed it by just whacking it (using all the safety procautions possible) and it came off in pieces, I'd repair the drywall (Very simple repair since it would only be a section of wall, not a whole room) and add the nice, decorative mirrors I've been seeing all over the TV and magazines. One sink, one larger mirror. Two sinks, each would get a separate mirror. Both would be nice enough that they would practically be focal points for the bathrm. I would get that done ASAP so that I could get to the creative (read: FUN!) part I love to do and that would be to use the broken mirror pieces to create something ala mosaic. Sooo many mirrored decor pieces out now on more upscale websites I've seen and the prices could choke a horse! From mirrored night tables to lamps. So, if you are asking what to do with the mirror should it not come off in decent pieces, I'd keep the pieces and create something fab-ooo, something unique, something special for my home. Here's an idea I found on the web not too long ago (while looking for ideas to use my Bordello Bunny pieces and shatters that were once two trays)....See MoreNew Construction Dilemma- Builder Mirrors for Bathrooms or ?
Comments (18)Sounds like you're talking a decent sized master bath so my comment may not apply to you. However I took down a very large mirror in my small hall bathroom because I thought I wanted a "pretty" mirror instead. I could not believe how much smaller and darker that tiny room felt with a small framed mirror. I put the large frameless mirror back up. :) I added a nice silvery-looking wood frame to the master bath one and called it a day. ETA - ask them to hang it with clips, no glue. Easy peasy to change out that way. People who glue those big mirrors ought to be shot. LOL.)...See Morelolainthecola
