Master Bath Reveal - Small space, big style
Comments (61)Otterkill - the glass shower enclosure was custom and done by a local glass shop. I prefer not to share costs publicly online. Not to mention costs can vary a great deal depending on the materials you use, prices and deals on materials, and regional labor costs. For those on a budget you can replicate this look for less if you use a different marble or other materials. There are some great porcelain tiles and quartz countertops that can create a similar look for much less. Calacatta gold generally runs $20+ a square foot for tile and over $200 a square foot for countertop slab. I suggest shopping around to get a sense of what you like and the costs and then drafting a budget. Then from there you can see where you have give and take in your budget to save on some items and splurge on other items. And as always check out Craigslist or Ebay for deals. Who knows, you may find a wonderful deal on closeout tile or remnant slab....See MoreBig reveal
Comments (56)Hi thank you and yes it is a Kohler Whitehaven. It's 36 inches wide and 6 inch apron front (vs regular 9). We didn't want to cut into the existing cabinet underneath so went with smaller apron and now are so glad we did. A couple of friends mentioned their 9 inch was too deep. They feel like they are stooping over too much. Both my husband and I are relatively tall and we don't feel like that at all. It's a great width and we are very happy with it. Would definitely recommend the protective grates in the bottom too....See MoreBig Reveal: Mid-Century Ikea and SemiHandmade
Comments (99)KL, Your new kitchen is spectacular. Thank you so much for sharing in such detail. I am thinking I ought to do the same, as I am just at the planning stages of my project. I am wondering how your kitchen is holding up after 8 months. I am considering going with IKEA boxes and semi-handmade in my kitchen reno, but worry about the durability of the Ikea drawers, slides, and hinges. Are you still happy with them? Also I am curious about what cabinet material you chose. I am guessing that SemiHandmade in Flatsawn Walnut is a veneer, right? How is it looking 8 months on? I am trying to make my budget work and am tempted to save on cabinets because it's just such a big ticket item. Are you still happy with your choice? Also, how do you like the FP fridge?...See MoreBig Reveal: Ikea kitchen reno
Comments (41)Historian Tile: Dal Tile 3x6 white subway tile (got it at Home Depot, it's called "white field tile") Grout: Delorean Grey (also from HD) I actually wanted a slightly larger tile but they're a lot harder to find, so I just stuck with the standard. Would've saved some time putting up tile. Also of note: the tiles are lugged, as in they have a 1/16 spacer built in. We wanted 1/8 spacing to show the grout a bit more so we also used 1/16 spacers, but it was considerably more difficult because the lugs are set back and getting the spacers to stay was a pain!...See Morefunkycamper
