Hi ncamy! I am so sorry for the delay in adding kitchens to the FKB! As jsweenc pointed out, there's a backlog of finished kitchens (as seen in the Coming Soon section of the FKB). These kitchens were submitted to me by their owners as ready-for-the-FKB. So it's actually me that has held up those two dozen kitchens from being posted. When I posted a new kitchen last night I was astounded that it had been two months since the previous kitchen was posted. I've been busy with this-and-that but there's no excuse to be 2 months late. :-( Again please accept my apologies.. and I will be diligent about getting them posted in the next week. (But I am so glad that you use the FKB. It makes all this work worthwhile.) And yes, the difference between the Discussions section and the Gallery section can be confusing. We originally used the Gallery section to post all finished kitchens; there is much less activity in the Gallery and posts do not scroll off as quickly as in the Discussions section. I had requested finished kitchens to be posted in the Gallery section because, unfortunately, a kitchen can scroll off the Discussions section before I can get it added to the FKB. It is also much easier for me to find a finished kitchen in the gallery. So that's my reasoning. In the future I will save the posts on my harddrive; so feel free to post in either section. But please either email me or submit the FKB Checklist to notify me that a kitchen is ready. btw... If you cook a lot that spatters or use spray on vegetable oils you are setting yourself up for misery with the window. I would move the fridge to the right of the double ovens (losing that cabinet and put the stove where the fridge is. That would work better with a sink on the island. I like the idea of the island sink provided you get one big enough to be usable. You can get a cutting board to cover it-to look flush when not in use. (There is even a push down faucet if you really want everything flush but you have to devote more space to the sink area, not woth it in my opinion.) Are there two cooks or just one? If two a corner sink would give both a landing area, if one, then there should be a landing area on both sides. How big is the island? Are there other cabinets in this room on another wall?

Pulling out the Fridge wall would give me issues with the ceiling grid area though. damiarain, thanks so much, we think its pretty cool too :) You have a really nice plan and what you and cpartist have made looks like a good workspace. PirateFoxy, thanks, I have the same thoughts about the fridge placement. Ok here are my issues. I would prefer to vent outside, keeping the cooktop on the outside wall. Everyone seems to agree I should lose that doorway from elevator and I get it, I just would prefer to find another way around that. This plan pulls everything to the dining room/entry area and my goal was to expand into the family area and pull the work areas that way a bit. Perhaps moving the ovens, move the fridge to the left and make a 28" counter there? Make a peninsula off the exterior wall on the other side of the cooktop? The family room space I really want to become part of the kitchen, with a desk and an eat in area. When you walk up onto this main floor you walk into the dining area looking right at where the fridge is placed in this plan. This counter area, left of the sink, I am imagining open with maybe shelves, no uppers. Keeping the counters open near the sink and window. So when you look at it like this, I think you will agree that it should be open with no appliances there. I really appreciate as much input as I can get, thanks so much!

Have the tile floor professionally cleaned. Change the lighting if you are going to change it for the remodel. THen pick a laminate with a little brown or tan in it to go with the floors. Otherwise, it will look like the new gray countertop was plopped in without coordinating with the rest of the kitchen.
