Optimizing laundry closet

Tmnca

We have a 2 bedroom 2 story condo with laundry closet in the hallway, it's a framed closet and we removed the bifold doors and put curtains, to allow front loader to fit, though noise from the laundry is worse. Dimensions are below. We are expecting a baby in August and plan to cloth diaper, we will be doing a lot of laundry! We do not have a garage or much storage, so I want to make the most of the space we have. We have an LG washer and tomorrow the matching (stackable/front control) dryer is being delivered.

Unfortunately the washer hookup is on the right, and the washer door opens to the right and can't be switched!

My dilemma is how to configure things:

1. stack the W/D and free up vertical storage space beside the machines?

2. leave side by side, add more shelving above the machines (with new dryer we can use more of the space above)

3. add pedestals for storage and then also add shelves above - probably most ergonomic for laundry.
