Watering 2/3 times a week seems pretty excessive. Its better to water by the feel of the soil. Usually all you have to do is stick your finger in the soil and if its dry down to a certain point its time to water. I've never had anthuriums so I'm not sure how they like there soil......moistness?

Does the pot have any drainage holes? What way does the window face and how far away is the plant from it?

The white bugs are probably spring tails.

Hi ! Thanks for your reply. The window is western facing, but its really high up near the ceiling, so the room is super bright and even all day, with stronger light in the afternoon. Having said that, the anthurium doesn't receive direct light, only nice even light all day.

The pot does have drainage holes. Its a really long pot (approx 40-50) and the plant's roots only touch the top 10cm of it, which means that 30-40 cm of the pot is just soil.

And do you reckon the white bugs are a pest? Should I spray it with Eco Pest Oil?

It seems like it's over potted and being over watered. Watering 2/3 times a week is alot especially in the winter months and is even worse when it's in a pot with such a large soil volume.

I'll let others chime in on where to go on from here as I don't know if it is still salvageable or not. As again I know nothing of anthuriums!

Spring tails are brought on by constantly moist conditions and are usually harmless, just annoying. They however can become quite bothersome if they get in large enough numbers and can cause some ill effects on the plant.

I don't know what works as again I've never had to deal with them, but constantly moist conditions are brought on by watering too much.

Since your plant is probably suffering from root rot do to over watering cutting down on the watering might save the plant and eradicate the springtails at the same time.

So is a big pot bad for a plant as well? should i maybe repot to a smaller container?

I would repot it into a smaller pot. Maybe a 6" pot. Anthuriums are a tropical plant. It seems like you have a nice location for it.

Make sure the new soil is fast draining. You'll be going into winter soon and heavy soil won't be helpful. An orchid type of mix would be better. Many wholesalers use a lot of peat in their soil mixes and that retains a lot of water. Bunnings just sell what they're supplied.

My anthurium lost all.leaves by turning yellow doesn't look like ita going to survive. Only brown roots are left. Any help?

Doubtful. I don't think roots alone can do anything, sorry.

I left my anthurium outside all last winter (only occasional light frost in my zone) under an eave. It looked bad in the spring but much to my surprise it regrew and has offered up two beautiful, long-lasting blooms. It has been in bright shade all summer. So if anyone is moving into winter now, don't give up. Hold off on watering, and maybe in spring you'll have a nice surprise.

This is my anthurium i dont know whats happening, please help need advice. I repot it before thats blck pot but now i repot again to its original pot in the second pic, i checked the roots it seems fine but the leaves i dont know whats happening.. any advice? Thanks
