Faucet(s) For large Vintage Style Sinks
Comments (10)The term you're looking for is "deck mounted" rather than "wall mounted." The Chicago Faucets double-jointed spout option mentioned above can almost certainly be made in a three-holed, deck-mounted configuration, with or without a base plate. (Trailrunner and dianalo both have two-holed, wall-mounted bridge versions.) This isn't one of their standard configurations, so the product catalog doesn't show a picture. But it could look something like the one in the following link, with the spout changed out for a double-jointed one. (You could also choose one without the base plate, and/or different handles from among their few offerings.) Good luck with your search. It such a wonderful sink! Here is a link that might be useful: faucet--spout could be changed for a longer one...See MoreCan anyone tell me what brand of faucet this is?
Comments (9)Thanks to everyone for their responses. We should have done this years ago so we could enjoy it ourselves but time has passed and we now plan to sell the home within one year so a full remodel which I estimated at around $25k doesn't seem like a great idea. On the other hand doing absolutely nothing didn't either, as we were concerned it might prevent the house from selling. In this situation if we do nothing does it make sense to provide some kind of an allowance to the buyers - although I don't want to offer $25k. We also have a problem in that the floor tile needs to be replaced. And thanks for the comments on the tub. It doesn't even have an access panel. The material on the front of the tub appears to be glued in so it would have to be removed. Then someone could determine whether the tub would need to be pulled to change the fixtures, which if we did we would just replace the tub and fixtures - but weren't sure that was a great idea either.....See MoreWhat style large window/s do you suggest for kitchen? Comments (45)Where is the best place to get windows from? A window store or a supply store? The window shop I checked out this weekend carries Andersen, Sunrise and Simonton (among others). The supply store carries Andersen and Simonton (among others). Someone please educate me on the best way to go about getting the best price for a good window. The contractor doing all of the work on the house will be installing the windows. We're looking for 2 new install double - double hung windows and a large picture window flanked with double hung windows. Down the road we will be replacing the rest of the windows in the house (15 total). For the most part, I like the look of the Sunrise and have read they are a better window over Simonton. Andersen looks nice too but I wonder if their prices are inflated because of the name/popularity. We had Simonton 5500 series in our old house and I thought they were fine. Is there a Simonton series that is worth looking into? When it comes to Sunrise and Andersen, are they comparable - quality and price? fwiw, we live near a jet noise - recommendations for windows that will help with sound dampening is appreciated....See MoreWhat is the best and most reliable faucet brands?
Comments (11)I will say we chose Delta Windmere for our build almost 10 years ago, in oil rubbed bronze, and it really hasn’t held up well. The finish has a clear coat that has lifted and peeled, and the base collars have corroded as the finish has worn. I don’t use harsh cleaners. While they are supposed to have a lifetime limited warranty, good luck if it’s the finish blowing from what I’ve read. All I can say is we’ve been pretty disappointed....See More- 8 years ago
