Comments (9)DM, I tried everything I could think of to embed your photos here and nothing worked. Sorry. Snapfish doesn't seem to be set up to posted photos on forums. Too bad. Do you have a photobucket account? They are very easy to use and you can even share clickable thumbnails. They seem to have every kind of code you'd need to post anywhere that I've ever wanted to post to. As for you entry. I love the table! That is one gorgeous piece. It seems to have been made for your home. The table runner is awesome too, but it could limit you on art selection. Once you get a large piece of art on the wall I don't think the lack of wall color will matter. This way, as you both want, the features of your home along with the decor, will be the show piece. You won't need color on the walls to "make" the room. As for wall art, what about making your own? I know you don't like to paint walls, but.....? There's so many other ideas for DIY art too. You say you thought about horizontal wood. Why not do it as "art" instead of the whole wall? I just bought a square coffee table for three ninety nine at a local thrift store and if Restore a Finish does it's trick, I might just use the top for art. This picture is really terrible, but it has burled and parquet wood veneer. Check thrift stores for large works or art or mirrors with or with great frames. If you don't like the art just use the frame. My brain is slowing down. I need food. Good luck! It's good to "see" you again....See MoreJazzing up my Target foot stool
Comments (19)Maybe it's just me, but I have a thing about footstools and ottomans not being taller than a coffee table. If I add casters, that will make it taller than the table. As it is, it almost looks taller but that's because the fur is all fluffed up! I may still try the painted-on faux caps...worse case scenario, I just repaint over them....See Moreany ideas to jazz up this entryway?
Comments (10)Click the link, in green, for a picture. I was going to suggest redoing the closet, if indeed that was a closet. Below is a picture showing before and after of how I did our back entry closet awhile back. Surprisingly removing the rod and adding double hooks, smaller child friendly hooks low on the sides for little ones to reach, adds so much more space. I used shoe shelves that I had on hand, but I like A's idea of building a bench too. I'd personally still want to be able to close the door. Add an over the door clear pocket shoe organizer for mittens, hats and other little necessities makes a coat closet even more efficient. Our home is a work in progress, which is why there is no baseboard inside the closet. We'll get there....See MoreWant to jazz up my kitchen on a budget
Comments (58)it would look better centered, obviously, but it's really not difficult to move the hole. you'd use the same wiring you have, just thread it through the ceiling another foot or so, make a new hole. The old hole get's patched, skimmed, primed/painted. (or, you could use it as a small recessed light fixture. maybe put in another one opposite so it looks intentional) But patching up the hole can be done in a jiffy. If you remove the old fixutre yourself, hiring someone to do the new hole, patch the old hole, shouldn't be more than a few hundred. I gave you a few links that walk you through the process. it's really simple...See Moreingrid_vc so. CA zone 9
