I also think the scarf needs to go. What is on the other side of the window besides bright light? Do you need to cover the window because of privacy or because it is so bright out there?? I do not like window covers, but in this case I would put something white in the windows...blinds or shades. But not like the drop thing you have already. I like that the top is left open. Do that again.

I have woven woods and purchased them at Home Depot. In the stores there are several available widths/lengths to choose from. In two of my bedrooms the width is off about 3/4" on each side, but with my window panels, no one would ever know. I spent a lot less on the shades/draperies than I would have on one made-to-measure shade. ;o)

Consider the silhouette-type blinds. If you have a vacuum with a wand-type attachment, you can easily vacuum them. I find them much easier to vacuum than traditional slat-type blinds. I really don't need to lay a hand on them to vacuum them.

What is currently up there are just temporary/paper shades 😇 We had honeycomb shades there before which were very similar but my son “mistreated” them and they would not go up and down. I was thinking of replacing the shades. So I thought honeycomb (even though he broke those before), roller shades, Roman shades, or maybe even wooden blinds. He does not want curtains and he does not want a single shade all the way across (even though I tend to think a single shade would look nice). Thank you!!
