Mitt Romney gives a 19 minute speech outlining why Donald Trump is unfit to be president. If Romney had sounded this reasonable eight years ago i might have been interested.
I find the viseral dislike and distrust of Hillary interesting. This is a woman who was near the top of her class at Wellesley. She wrote her senior thesis on poverty and community development. She wanted to be an astronaut back when that was not possible, although many of you were not alive then perhaps. She was an accomplished lawyer-one of only three female lawyers out of forty-some to work on the inquiry into possible impeachment of Nixon. She volunteered to work for Marian Wright Edelman and her Washington Research Project which became the Children's Defense Fund. She has been dedicated to women and children throughout her adult life. She tried to improve health care in the 90s. However, it seems that a woman who is bright, driven, accomplished, and confident inspires negative feelings in many. Too bad. She has not made perfect decisions all the time and she is not liberal enough for me in some ways (ha), but she is attacked with no foundation time and again. I do not consider her accomplishments to be minor. She definitely has accomplished more in her life than I have and I am fairly accomplished, if I do say myself. ;-)
ETA Sometimes, accomplishments are not measured individually. When someone can work with others towards laudable goals, that may also be significant. The Children's Defense Fund continues to work toward its goals. Simply because those goals are not all achieved does not make the organization unworthy of admiration and praise. The same holds true for individuals.
As to being fiscally conservative, it is often used as an excuse to avoid funding socially liberal programs.
She does not sit around smugly criticizing others, but she continues to work for things she believes will make this world better. She is far and away a better candidate for President than anyone in the other party at this point.
