Yes it did get exposed to cold, I brought it home when the temps were below 20. It wasnt out for long but long enough I guess. Correct I have not watered it, Lowes likes to drown their plants so its soaked still. Come spring its going to be repoted in a better draining soil. As far as light its about 8' from a east window and 3' from a south window. Both are 6'x3.5' windows. So it gets decent light, it is however winter in NY so light is not quite as good as it will be. I've been reading on all sorts of plants, kinda got the bug..... wife might kill me. Our living room is turning into a greenhouse :)
