Bing and uistub.exe

I found these two creatures and have captured with a snipping tool the file which is small. However, GW won't let me bring it up. I have Win 8 Microsoft 365. Neither are in my programs and unistub is a sub file that could be dangerous. I ran Malware and Norton. How can I get rid of them?

Thank you. Also, I have had trouble with bing and don't want it. Maybe it's because it a Leap Year but I have had to set my password on here and cannot bring up Houzz/GW without reinstalling my name and password twice.

What browser do you have bing in ?

I have Google. I found researched unistub and found some old comments that find in possibly dangerous. Between 8 and 12%. I also spent 10 hours with Microsoft level 1 people who cannot work with Outlook365 and have lost calendars etc. I come to you with detailed eye as these two area unistub and bing are new, And Bing took over Google as it has done in the past.

    uistub.exe

Where is the file located, what is the file path ?

    example

    C:\Program Files\ uistub.exe

    Still looking

When you find it you right click on it and choose properties, that will give you the file path. If you have Norton installed then it's definitely part of Norton. The only time a file like that would be considered dangerous is if the file is located in the system32 folder or any other place besides program files of common files .

It is 5:47 pm and the clock it wrong on my entry.

    OK,

So we have Norton installed and we know that uistub.exe is part of Norton. I would not worry about it any longer. The file you posted is a cached copy in a temporary location in Internet explorer.

If you are still concerned you can always up- load the file to virus total, but I think it's unnecessary.

Thanks. I think I will. It was found it in a sub file. Do you have any advice on getting rid of Bing? It is not listed in programs I can uninstall.

    OK

I'd like to see the results from virus total when you do it. I think you just post a link to the page so I can see it.

What browser do you see Bing in ? Google Chrome ?

Sometimes you can reset the browser back to default and that will help

I used this url C:\Users\ddemi_000\Pictures\taskman-uistub-exe[1].png which is different than I gave you before. The result is this statement: The submitted URL does not match a valid URL pattern, please check your syntax and request a new scan

Only up load the file to virus total (uistub-exe) not the entire line an location. Is that what you did ?

I uploaded the whole url above. I'll do unistub-exe not. Easy little program,

taskman-uistub-exe[1].png ....This is what I loaded and the result was 0/55. It listed many programs and they all got check marks under updated. Does that updated mean my programs are, in fact, updated to the latest revision?

February 29, 2016 at 4:00PM - should I worry that my clock is date of posting is hours difference on my end?

0/55=> That means 55 virus scanners scanned your file and found no issues. The check mark indicates the file is good.

I got 0/56 on a file that I know is good

    2. Select "Search Providers" in the left menu. ...
    3. Select "Bing" in the list of search providers. ...
    4. Click the "Remove" button. ...

Reset your computer clock if it's wrong

Maybe its gone. It was the default and I could not remove it until I got Google up there too. It was the computer forum clock that was off not mine. Leap year....it probably only appeared to me. Thank you zep for being available.
