In the picture I honestly can't see a problem. However, if it bothers you, overstock.com, for instance has a huge inventory of cushion covers. You could also try putting two cushions that more or less match the bench upholstery behind them. I personally feels it gives a lighter feel to the room and is quite attractive, but pictures are so often misleading. The pillows don't look too large or thick in your photos. Why not give them a little time to settle in before you decide? They seem to go quite well with the light-covered ottoman. A great-looking and welcoming room, by the way. I love your table lamps and coffee table.

What a pretty room! I think the cushion looks great--I like the color, and it doesn't look too thick at all to me. I also LOVE the mirrors you have on either side of the window--very nice!

I think it looks fine. Wait a while and see if your opinion changes. Perhaps you'd like to drape a throw in a neutral color on one side to help break up the "red slash'

I think it looks great, too and quite possibly just brings your eye to it because it's new and different. I think anything thinner might have looked skimpy with your furniture. I think it adds a nice transition from rug to valance.

I like it too! A friend of mine who has done interior design once told me that anything new in a room is like an intrusion into the space....maybe give it some time?

Quickest fix that will look nice is to pick a neutral color fabric with sheen, tuck and tape the fabric to the underside of the cushion.

I haven't seen the room before so when I look at it I just think it's a wonderful room. The window seat only stands out to me because I want to sit there first.

Beautiful, inviting room and I can't see a thing wrong with that cushion. It's new to your eye so maybe that's why it jumps out at you. I vote to leave it and re-asses in a week or two.

I too see all the elements blending nicely. The cushion doesn't stand out and I wouldn't have paid any special attention if you hadn't singled out the cushion. Lovely room!

I think you chose well. Right now because it is new, your eye is more focused on it than it would be normally. The whole room looks very pretty and inviting.

Oh you are all so kind! I really appreciate your talking me off the ledge, or off the window seat so to speak. I think it is more drastic in person than in the photos. I really wanted something a bit more textured, but I got hung up on the color tones (most of the Sunbrella options were too orange-y rust colored.) But I will give it some more time and hopefully my eye will get more accustomed to it. It's a huge help to know that it doesn't scream awful to everyone else!!

It looks wonderful! The color & thickness of the cushion is perfect. I like the 2 matching mirrors on each side. And you still have poinsettias alive!!

I'd add a few more pillows and maybe a throw, to invited sitting and reading.

I love window seats. I have one upstairs in the hall, but would love to have one like yours downstairs.
