Recessed UCLs? Is this another one of my hair brained ideas?

I'm looking at LED under cabinet lighting options, and I want to avoid a light rail all together or else use one that is as thin (1/2") and plain as possible. I' assuming from what I've I read that hardwired is the only way to get a really thin profile, and that's not a problem. We have plenty of places to mount a transformer.

In my search I spotted a system by Hafele and one option they have is a light that is designed to be recessed. It's still 1/2" high and since my cabinet frames are only 3/4" I worry about the strength of the bottom shelf for my dish cabinets with a 1/2" groove cut into them. But it seems like a great idea for my open shelving - assuming I go with something more substantial - like 1" thick.

Is anyone here familiar with Hafele LED lighting? Most of their stuff is pretty good quality so I hope that's true for the lights. Hafele Evolution Recessed Lights
