Comments (25)fyi, the rims can be painted after installation. Charliedawg, our plugs are perfect. With the lakeview, fireplace, tv, open kitchen and arches to DR and foyer, there is really only one natural place for our sofa. I knew we wanted to put a sofa table behind it, so we left room for that and enough room to walk between table and the cedar posts at the kitchen opening. The electrician said there was no rush since the plugs were going into the main level, which is second story, so we were able to wait until house was framed to decide exactly where they were going. DH and I used empty boxes to place where the sofa and measured to make sure there was enough room behind for table. (You can see the two cans in the kitchen we didn't need :( ) Here is a link that might be useful: Great room...See MoreShow me your closet pantry doors - pic's please
Comments (9)Both Ccoombs1 & Buehl's pantry's are corner types. Mine is just on the flat wall and rectangular. Its 4' along the back wall and then approx 2' deep. I think I will put shelves along one side of the 2' depth and then along the back wall (like an L). The L will be on the right side and the door will be shifted to the left side. So if there were 12" deep shelves at a min on the L side, I would have approx 30" or so of opening for a door or doors. If any shelf was deeper, then it would be smaller. If it was a single door it would swing right. Immediately to the left of the pantry is the doorway to the hallway. So there is a space issue here and therefore tying to see how small of a door I can put in and still be comfortable to get in and out as well as access the stuff on the right side that forms the L. Does this make sense? A friend of mine has the same door on hers. Can't remember though if you can see the stuff on the shelves through it or not. This style is on my list if a single door would work....See MoreNew design and share large pantry ideas, please

Comments (81)Love all your rooms inside and out! Here are mine. Our DIY kitchen that we are still working on( DH rather) and our front porch. I used the painters tarp and grommet ideas for curtains for the porch so now we can sit and watch the storm.I call it the "biggest little porch in town" You are looking at the whole thing in the photo, there ain't no more. But it is big enough for 3 to sit and the 2 dogs can lie on the porch with us. We have our morning coffee outside after our walks. I included photos from May when I had painted the free CL loveseat and made pillows so you could see the colors in a better light. I am just using grosgrain ribbon right now, I plan to make tiebacks out of the stripe canvas. Of course the roses arent blooming like that now....See MoreJancy
