Picking out Kitchen Paint color - gray/greige/beige?
Comments (25)I have balanced beige and tony taupe by SW in my house. They might look good with your floor. I like all of the colors you have tried besides the two that look too blue. Edge comb is probably my favorite of your samples. It seems to have just a hint of taupe to mix well with your floors and might be a bit warmer. Good luck and please show after pictures....See MoreHeLP! Decorate around Oriental rug
Comments (63)Loobab, Thank you :)I am glad you like it. My husband and I were watching a young lady making one similar to this, and we just couldn’t leave without buying one. I love the idea about posting a thread when I am all settled and everything is out of the box, but I am not sure. I am quite a private person and don’t feel too comfortable posting photos of my home on public forums (I do admire and I am very grateful to those who do). But I will consider it, though :)) Ingrid, thank you for clarifying it for us. I would have been very surprised and sad if that had been the case. I really appreciate your candor :)...See MoreCan an oriental rug be considered neutral?
Comments (21)Yes, ingrid and lascatx, the rug also has navy, greys, and beiges. No, my3dogs, not my rug. :) Here’s mine: I also grew up with orientals being neutral, but pal said what I’ve suspected all along: not all neutrals go with anything or everything. Obviously my rug would go well with navy and grey, but I was kind of hoping that when making accent fabric selections I could pretend that thing on the floor wasn’t there. (Though I really do like it!) I’m gravitating toward warm colors for Roman shades and pillows, like this: or this: But there’s no getting around the fact that the red in the rug is very cool. I don’t think I can get away with the warms, which is too bad, because my kitchen, next to the living room, is very warm, and I’d like a little cohesiveness. (The opening on the right, just past the avocado painting, goes to the living room.)...See MoreNewly installed gray carpet looks purple - Help me decorate!
Comments (4)I was thinking maybe something like a navy or lighter blue may work. I really am not a purple fan and have no purple in the rest of my house so I want to avoid that. We have 2 dogs that shed a lot so a darker shade of blue may not work well for us. I'll have to look through some inspirational photos with navy couches to see if I like the look anyway!...See MoreRelated Professionals
