Should I Remove Fruit From Young Peach Tree?
Comments (7)Just thought I'd tell a funny story..... Years ago I planted some fruit trees for homeowners in Utah....I told them to take the BLOSSOMS off (if any showed up) so as to allow the tree to have more vigor to go into the vegetative growth the first year or so.... In the Fall, I called back these homeowners to see how their trees were doing that I had planted. I was shocked to hear one man say his tree had died. "What happened?" I asked, feeling rather anxious, and wondering if I had done something wrong. "Well, sir, I took off all the LEAVES like you told me" (Geesh! true story)...See More5'x8' bathroom, remove the tub, what size shower should I choose?
Comments (7)sjhockeyfan, thank you very much for sharing your shower stall's information. So your shower base's width from wall to the step's inner edge is 28". What is your step made up of --- 2 bullnoses or tile and metal trims? Lotteryticket, thanks for your information. raehelen, appreciate your help. My contractor said with two bullnoses of 3" width, the step would be 6" wide. For 4" step, 32" wide shower stall would have a base space of 28" (32 - step width 4). But if I have 6" step, in order to have the base space of 28"(not including step width), I need to have a total width of 34" including step (28+6). So does your rectangular shower stall have a width of 28" not including the step? What are your steps made up of---2 bullnoses or tile and metal trims? Anna-in-TX, thank you very much for sharing the picture. It's a smart option. Comments (9)Mostly that. :-) The tree roots you're not going to be able to do much about quickly; they'll rot over time and the soil will...become even more uneven, actually. Add a quarter inch of soil at a time in low spots to bring it up, repeating every six weeks in areas with grass to give the grass time to adjust. Areas that are currently bare can be leveled immediately but, as always, count on some re-leveling as it settles. Be sure to use top soil without much or any organic matter and don't use compost! Compost will rot away to nothing eventually and leave you with uneven soil all over again. Soil tests can be done immediately as well, just make sure not to get any wood chips or bits in the test. I can and will read Logan Labs and will generally at least give a try on others, but don't make any promises. Amendments aren't recommended during seeding or on very young lawns, so you're going to be limited this fall except in emergency conditions. New seed will require watering three to four times a day, even to the detriment of the existing grass. Fortunately, it doesn't require much water, but it does demand to be kept damp at all times until it sprouts, and for any mix with bluegrass in it, that can be a solid month. I do recommend bluegrass because it's a nice, self-repairing grass. And I don't generally recommend professional services without a lot of research because...well, a lot are less than professional. :-)...See MoreAsbestos duct tapes? Should I remove and how to remove?
Comments (10)Looking at the photo I see the tape is between the duct work and floor joists. That would suggest this is a return. Usually a leaky seem is not as critical for a return as it is for a supply. However you don't want car exhaust fumes being pulled in through any open seams. If the tape is secure, then apply the new duct tape over it. I like the Nashua tape. It is available in Home Depot in a 2.5 inch width....See MoreNevermore44 - 6a
