Ingrid, Coquette des Blanches is a great rose, on the smaller side and blooms it head off, even in roasting heat and sweet, sweet fragrance. Mine doesn't look so hot, even after 3 years. I rec'd it as a 2-gallon, brutally hacked for shipping (is why I prefer bands). I really don't think this particular one is ever going to recover and have propagated another to take its place. SdlM, you just can't have too many!!! I want Cels too, waiting to buy from a great ebay vendor that offers it each year. My Clair Matin is a very slow grower, but has done well, even in the heat. 91 roses is a lot. It's pretty amazing how fast they populate. I don't really know how many I have now. Are you really supposed to count the ones in the ghetto? I will have to try and find that little formula for calculating just how many roses one has... I too am in the process of relocating a bunch to the ghetto. Real estate is limited at my camp and I give them 3 years to perform. They really have to get to looking like real dogs before I move them. I wish I could have known then what I know now when I started the garden. Trees I planted are progressively giving more shade, not always a good thing. And if you plant the roses closely, you almost have to plant all at the same time, else the larger will not allow growth of the smaller. To me, it is very sad to see a rose that performed well in the past go bad and have to be moved. I look back at the photos and see what it once was. Lux, I have the highest hopes for all these teas that are moving into my garden. The teas I currently have are excellent performers in my garden.

Hi Tammy: I grew daylilies from seeds for several years and I can tell you that your seedlings are not getting enough light. The reason they are growing tall is to reach for the sunlight. I would place them in direct sunlight in day time and keep them moist, at all times. A lot of people put the cups in about an inch of water and leave them there 24/7. I have tried this method and it does work very well. My first thought was that it would cause them to rot, but they loved it, and did much better. As suggested above, I would cut them back to the point where they can support themselves. If you place them in direct sunlight in the day time and under the lights at night, about 3 inches below the bulbs, the new growth should be stronger and self supporting. Also you should turn them daily to keep the new growth straight, otherwise they will turn to the light which could cause them to fall sideways. Hope this helps.

Wow Celeste!! Soooo beautiful!! All your hard work really shows. So glad to finally see some pics of your beauties this year. Your roses and gardens are always stunning. Never can get enough of them. I know the meaning of outta control!! My husband tells me that quite frequently. hahaha! I took a few years off from buying lilies when I found this forum looking at roses. Then last year I looked at the lily forum alot and went wild myself ordering new daylilies. I love allllll my new babies but have been soooo lazy this year and haven't posted any pics. Its so funny how yours are really getting started and mine are almost coming to an end. boooo hooooo!! I am going to look for some more late bloomers in hopes of extending my bloom time. I don't really see alot reblooming like lots of folks on here do but when I do I get ecstatic. My roses are starting to vamp back up though, despite the deering nibbling here and there, so now I will be focusing on them. Always something though isn't it! I have decided no more roses, unless their purple. I went wild getting lots of purple daylilies so that should feed my fix for a while! lol! Thanks everyone,It looks much better in person of course.It has been a really late spring here as well. Ken, I'm not sure what you mean by root flare? I actually didn't post a pic of the walkway where there is a narrow bed.I haven't built up anything beneath either tree.The tree on the left I have actually left space in that side bed away from it.It is pretty old and knarly looking but is still blooming as you can see. Everyone in the building has been thrilled,getting lots of thanks and offers of help with weeding.I'm hoping that the management will reimburse me for some of the planting.Then I can buy more! They did get me the soil,manure,etc.
