Faber 36' Pro Magnum Hood 600 CFM
Comments (8)Breezygirl: I just got through talking with the dealer that I ordered the Faber Hood from and luckily I found out that they ordered the wrong one. I didn't realize that they ordered a30" Hood instead of the 36". So now they are going to find another 36" hood with at least 1000 to 1200 CFM's for me. Thank you for your advice. If it were not for you I would have been totally surprised when a 30" hood was delivered to my door to go with my 36" CC rangetop. I had a 36" Faber before and it is a beautiful hood and was powerful enough for my 36" Dacor cooktop but it would not have been enough CFM's for my CC....See MoreFaber Cristal slide-out integrated range hood
Comments (3)As long as the mesh filters are religiously cleaned, then the concept is ok. The execution, as perceived from the image in the link, suggests that the pull out is very thin. This would greatly restrict the flow rate through the mesh filters in that part. I would prefer at least four inches internally for air flow. Mesh-filter based hoods rarely have any capture volume below the filters, as in this case, so effluent not immediately pulled through the mesh can escape. If the asserted 500 cfm is shared 400 in the rear and 100 in the front, clearly the front will be less effective. Also, this particular unit is only 24 wide and 18 deep when pulled out, much too small in my opinion for anything larger than a one or maybe two-hob induction unit. kas...See MoreFaber Pro Magnum vent hood for induction cooktop??
Comments (2)I don't have any knowledge of the Faber, but I am just wondering why you are going as wide as 48" over a 36" cooktop. A 42" hood would suffice, and look more in proportion. I am concerned that 48" hood over a 36" range will look too big and out of proportion in your kitchen....See MoreImperial and Kobe Hoods and General Venting Question
Comments (1)I found info on hood installations for ducts exactly that size. It says that you purchase duct transitions and angles at most plumbing supply stores. I also saw something on Vent A Hood that says it's made for a what I believe is your duct size. Sorry in advance if this is something you already checked out Here is a link that might be useful: duct info....See Moreskidd5
