Do you own a cordless stick blender?

I have a Cuisinart that I got at a yard sale several years ago. I probably only use it 5-8 times a year. I always keep it plugged in. Are you suppose to do that?

Now its so sluggish it won't blend water! Does the battery just die after so long or did I over charge it?

SHORT RUN TIMES
If after repeated use the run time seems to get shorter and the hand blender
has less power, it may not be the result of a faulty unit. This condition can be
remedied by allowing the Cuisinart® Smart Stick PLUS® Cordless Rechargeable
Hand Blender to run until it stops. Then recharge the unit for 24 hours for a new
charge. This procedure improves the batteries’ capacity. You may need to
repeat this a few times for the best results

I replaced one here after using it only a couple of times. The new one works so far. I mostly use it to blend cream and pureed soups, but I am discovering that the old Waring blender does a smoother job of pureeing than the blender stick.

The L.A. Times food section often includes an article in which a group of kitchen experts rate different brands of a specified gadget or appliance. A while ago they examined stick blenders and concluded that the Kitchenaid was superior in design and performance. If I recall correctly, the reviewers touted KitchenAid's larger size to be a plus for an immersion hand blender. We purchased one based on their comments and have been very happy with it. We've used it for soups, sauces, even milkshakes. The other night we even used it to make fresh bread crumbs, which came out a bit finer than we had wanted but still perfectly okay. I used mine just last night with the mini processor bowl for chopping 1 cup of walnuts. I didn't want to drag out the big machine. I could not believe how well it worked. Bzz, Bzz, all chopped. If you have only the stick, I think it would scatter the crumbs unless you could keep them contained in a deep and very narrow bowl or mug. Even then you would spend most of the time corraling the escapees and putting them back under the head.

I use one all the time. You only need to blend it once or twice until it is well blended. If you blend it continuously, or a lot after it has thickened, it will burn out. I buy extras at second hand stores and garage sales.

I don't have a cordless, but love love love mine. Son gave it to me at least 25 years ago.

I don't have a cordless one either but I love my immersion blender and use it at least once a week. Mine comes with a whisk attachment, and a chopping bowl with a blade inside. Mine is a Braun

Augment, Mine is very similar to the one shown, just a older model. Looks like we need to keep it plugged in like I have. Maybe mine is just shot. I am going to let it rest then replug ans see what happens. I have a bid on a new one on eBay.

Did you read the line about running it till it stops? That is important.

Yes that is extremely important. Drain the battery every few weeks or so. Just unplug it till dead or run it till dead then plug back in till the next time you are up to the drain time. Leaving it plugged in forever will kill it.
