I'm going to repeat my post from two years ago, because nothing has changed, and my solution is still working. If you find spots only on the front of your solid-color t-shirts after washing them, this will take care of them. It's a pain, but pre-treating them faithfully with Stain Stick--I now have to order it from Amazon, as WalMart and Kroger stores have quit carrying it--but it relieves the frustration of finding spots on freshly washed clothes. Spots only occur on the fronts of our t-shirts, never the backs or sides, so I think it has to do with getting grease on the front either from cooking or eating. Have you ever seen the spot a tiny crumb of potato or corn chip leaves on a brown paper sack overnight? My solution: pre-treat all visible spots with Stain Stick. Works most of the time, and seems to always work the second time around if there is a spot or two after the first wash. It's a pain, but compared to the trouble of making my own detergent, I'll continue doing it. I tried using spray pre-treatments, but once you spray you can't tell what spots are from the spray and which need to be treated. I have a top-loader and use Costco Free and Clear, but have tried Tide and other detergents, as well. Makes no difference. I use a dryer and fabric softener sheets. I tried no sheets and different brands--no difference. I typically pour the detergent down into the bottom of the tub so it goes into the area below the tub with the holes it, but don't wait to put clothes in until the bottom is covered with water, so it's possible some of the unmixed detergent is getting on the clothes. But as I started off with, if the spots were being caused by the detergent, they wouldn't be just on the fronts of the shirts.

There are occasions when nice shirts are the appropriate thing to wear (either with non-jean pants or a skirt). Going to religious services, a funeral, a job interview, or to certain jobs. But I have a feeling that more people are just deciding to go casual (more casual than "Friday casual" at work) for even these things. One place you might check with to see if they're interested in the nice shirts are places that help women get back in the workforce by providing job-interview clothes. Not the traditional consignment shops -- Junior League clubs and the like sometimes have that as their project.

I am a t-shirt person! I like Talbot’s Pima cotton t-shirts. I have short sleeves, 3/4 sleeves, and long sleeves. I do not dry them in the dryer. However, I do throw them in for 5 minutes on low heat with a dryer sheet then hang on a folding rack to dry. This past season (winter) I found them to be quite long, almost too long. I’ve also bought Land’s End. They are quite long. The Pima cotton is soft, but it might be a tad thin. I bought t-shirts from LLBean several years ago. I liked the fabric but found the shirts to be a bit short and the sleeves were closer to cap sleeves than short sleeves.

I love t-shirts. I prefer fitted vnecks, but can appreciate the comfort of a regular oversized tshirt too. I like funny t-shirts or just cutesy ones. I wouldn't wear any with vulgarity, political or religious messages, or anything like that. But I have lots of holiday ones, like my Thanksgiving "strut your stuffing" shirt, my "I got a rock" or "HalloQUEEN" shirts, or my absolutely ENDLESS christmas ones. I recently got several Breast Cancer related shirts,as my sister, who is closest to me in age at 39 years old, recently got diagnosed with it and as she lives far away, asked that me and our other sister and our brothers wear them in support. The ones I got are pink, v-neck, and say "Save the Boo-Bees. It very cute. Sorry its just kinda thrown over my stove. I had just opened the package and took a picture of it to show her it arrived. I get some tshirts as gifts. Mostly from my truck drivers. Here is a couple gardening shirts one of the truckers gave to me. I am forever out in my flower garden at work. And I guess they thought of me when they saw them. They are wrinkled because I let them sit in the dryer so sorry.....but aren't they CUTE!?!?! Otherwise, I wear solid, light colored, fitted t-shirts. Simple and comfy.
