S SPACECOAST daylilies only! 2018
Comments (19)Spacecoast Seashells ....... I almost lost this one last spring with the sitting water that kept freezing and thawing . Hoping to see it has recovered this spring . I also grow Spacecoast Starburst and remember being so stoked about adding this one to my gardens years ago. Many daylilies and many more moments of being excited adding new plants since then , this one still makes me happy. I added Spacecoast Sharp Tooth and Spacecoast Spice Girl last season but late in the season so really looking forward to seeing them bloom this year . The next Spacecoast I would like to add is Spacecoast Frances Busby ....See MoreS Sa - Si daylilies 2018
Comments (38)I'm always struggling to get a photo that's the most true representation of how a daylily looks to my eye. I'm not much of an early riser and early morning is the best time to get good photos. That's before they are in too much sun or possibly shade if that's the case. Too much sun washes everything out and shade often gives gorgeous photos with vivid color, but it's not what your eye will really be seeing in the garden. Because I register and sell daylilies, I try hard to give the truest image of the flower, even though I could use a prettier photo. Before buying a daylily based on one photo, look on the internet for other pictures of it and also look to see if the background colors look true to life. I don't think people enhance the photo using editing tools most of the time, but the sun/shade thing can really affect what the photo looks like and sometimes we forget (I do) what we should really be seeing and post a photo that's not quite 100% lifelike....See MoreToo many S daylilies, heres some alternative ideas

Comments (3)Honestly , I am not seeing anything wrong with the plant/plants in these images . Not sure where you are located but if there has been any kind of drought the old leaves will turn brown and die off from the outer bottom and move their way into the center if drought continues long enough . It is the plants way of preserving the core . Often if there has been a rain and then the hot sun returns , the rain on the tip of the leaves magnifies the strength of the sun and you get some burning of the tips . So like Shive says ........normal die back ....See Moresherrygirl zone5 N il
