I use a Retin-A product every night and it really helps keep my skin tone even. I've never had good skin so this is saying something.

dedtired, I've seen Retina A on Amazon before, but I don't know how safe it is. I also need to get some, but have a regular doctor appointment scheduled soon so I'm going to see if my primary care physician will prescribe it.

I have the exact same problem. I have Retin A from the dr., which I was lazy about using for a while but I have been using it more regularly lately -- not long enough yet to notice any improvement. I am very intrigued by that MUAC peel...

Clinique's Even Better treatment is a good product for any brown/red marks. I haven't used it in a while, but I was really quite impressed with it when I used it. Retin A is hard on my skin-- I get red and flaky if I use it more than 1-2x week.

Jlc, I like Clinique products. Wish they would include that in their bonus gifts. I must have ten of their makeup bags!

I'm going to try Retin-A again. I've always stopped when I got to the peely stage, but I'll try to persevere this time. I'll buy some when my husband and I go to Mexico in a couple of months. It's sooo much cheaper there, and it is the same as what's sold here, but labeled for the Mexican market. I've seen it sold online too. The Mexican name is Retacnyl, and it's sold by Galderma.

This Fall I purchased a "package" from my CS for 3 treatments of BBL for this issue. The package cost me $600. I am very underwhelmed by the results --- only 2 small spots dissappeared. I would stick with some kind of Retinoid that works for you (I can't tolerate much so I use a 1% clinical retinoid by Paula's Choice) and Vit c serum. I think this is the best bang for your buck. I'm really put off that I was so sold on the BBL ---- assured that it would be effective, that I scheduled a followup meeting to let the CS know how disappointed I am. $600 is a lot of money for nothing!

BBL is a laser type treatment. You can google BBL laser and get lots of results.

I've had IPL (impulse light) treatments for my face. It takes care of a lot of issues including brown spots, sun damage, spider veins etc. plus stimulates collagen. I have friends who have used it on their hands for aging spots. All gone!! They are pricey and you may need more than one. It's a little uncomfortable but worth it. I rarely use foundation now.

Birchpoint, DH can have any number of meanings, depending on how you are feeling towards the husband at the moment. ETA is edited to add.
