I am looking for a site or pattern for the Time Out dolls. I quilt and crochet for Disabled Veterans at the local nursing home, elderly in nursing homes, elderly at my church, crafts for church, cancer patients and now premature babies. I showed one of the disabled veterans a time out doll that I purchased in Houston for my husband to use at the car show and he wanted one made with a Navy uniform on him. I said I would see what I could do. If anyone has a pattern or a site, please send it to me. I've sewn doll clothes for years(over 40),for my DD then GD'S and now GGD's.And the other poster are correct,get the doll first.I have a soon to be 3 year old GGD,and she loves the soft dolls i make,(think rag dolls).She loves to drag them around with her for play and for bedtime.I make her the dolls and the clothes.She isn't to the stage yet where she just wants to change their clothes all the time,she just likes playing with them,talking to them etc. I've made her dolls,bunnies,bears etc,and different sizes in all of them.Then she just took over some of those sort of dolls that i keep around the house for when the kids come over. If she lives close by,take your cues from her!!My almost 3 year oldGGD plays with Barbies,but she doesn't try to dress and undress them yet.She just talks to/with them,and shows them her other babies.Make sure to make her some dollie blankets as well. I have doll patterns going back to when my DD was little 44 years ago,and for all sorts of dolls. Check your thrift stores also for old doll patterns,ours has lots of them from time to time. 2 years ago i made a wardrobe for my niece for her American Girl doll,she was 11 at the time.She was thrilled!! Okay, you guys have convinced me! All the arguments you're using are the ones I would use with someone else, but wasn't using on myself. It's important to get exactly what you want once in awhile. It's important to fit in with your peer group. She's only young once. Wildchild, you're right that it doesn't matter why she wants it, just that she does. And Maddie_in_Ky, Sue_VA, and Paula_PA - you spoke to me, and I'd already thought of how I'd feel if she'd really sad that she didn't get the doll. It's one thing if we couldn't afford it, but that's not the case. So I'm getting a My American Girl doll with shoulder-length brown hair, brown eyes, medium skin tone, and pierced ears. Just like Chloe - and that's what she wants. Ruthieg_tx and Nikki_nj, thanks for the tip about searching eBay and Target for clothes. I found a soccer uniform (complete with shin guards, soccer socks, shoes and ball) on eBay. It's the same colors as her soccer uniform, and I think she'll like that. So thanks for all the help in figuring this out! And I love that there's a hospital if she cuts the hair off.:)

The object is to have the static friction as close as possible to dynamic friction to reduce a stick-slip action. When these two frictions are equal, the slide rule action becomes smooth. Slide rules made of bamboo usually do not require lubricants, and in my day, were more expensive. Engineering slide-rules have vertical cursor lines on both sides of the rule. These are adjustable and should be checked for alignment before using the slide-rule. These two cursors must be aligned with each other, in other words, when the cursor on one side lies on its index, the other side must also be on its index line. The index line is at ends of the scale. The reason for this is there are calculations that use both sides of the device and will be in error if the two lines on the cursor glasses are not aligned. A 10 inch slide-rule can only calculate to 3 places. Sometimes, it can do a 4th place if the answer lies between the 1 and 2 on the scale. A 20 inch slide-rule adds one more place. I have seen only one of these in my lifetime. It was a special issued by GM to some of its engineers in the 1950s. ************
