Comments (5)Murraysmom....leaves and possibly floating trash. It's a BIG park in downtown Colorado Springs with a biking/running trail that goes through it next to the creek. The creek feeds the ponds. One day I saw a couch sitting in the middle of the creek before it was removed. Comments (11)Emma, that is so cool. I didn't know anything about this hotel. My brother is an architect and a big fan of Frank Lloyd Wright. I'll have to ask him if he's been there, although I'm guessing he probably has. Thanks for sharing that. I love the room but can appreciate the damaged shins!! :)...See MoreI'll Show You Mine if You Show Me Yours Wed Jan 06

10 years agolast modified: 10 years agoMy Christmas cactus on November 1. It went downhill from there. I think I did water it too much. So, with socks and rob's help, I am trying to revive it.
It's not planted in this pot. It is sitting on a couple of plastic pots in this pot.

10 years agoAn Airglow Fan from Lake to Sky
Image Credit & Copyright: Dave Lane; Rollover Annotation: Judy SchmidtExplanation: Why would the sky look like a giant fan? Airglow. The featured intermittent green glow appeared to rise from a lake through the arch of our Milky Way Galaxy, as captured last summer next toBryce Canyon in Utah, USA. The unusual pattern was created by atmospheric gravity waves, ripples of alternating air pressure that can grow with height as the air thins, in this case about 90 kilometers up. Unlike auroras powered by collisions with energetic charged particles and seen at high latitudes, airglow is due to chemiluminescence, the production of light in a chemical reaction. More typically seen near the horizon, airglow keeps the night sky from ever being completely dark.
