What is it with SUVs and pickups in snow?

Why do they take snow as some sort of off-road challenge? Everyone else driving very carefully, reasonably, and they'll cut over into the space you've kept in case of sliding, slaloming through traffic like it's an obstacle course? Dang them! One pickup pulled out in front me this morning when there wouldn't have been enough room/time on dry road. Ugh. I truly do not understand the mentality. Sedans and sports cars don't do this. At least, not here. Maybe other places? And maybe other places the SUV/pickup off-road slaloming mentality doesn't exist. Lucky you!

This weekend on my street, I've seen jeeps, dune buggy looking things, four wheelers, three wheelers, a snow mobile (in the south?!): those are meant for snow driving. And no one was actually driving in it, trying to get to work. These vehicles were driving for fun. They were sliding all over the place and nowhere near hitting anything or causing issues.

Save that driving when no one is on the road trucks!
