I have a heather in a pot in my garden that has been left behind by former tenants and if I'm honest I don't know where to start with it. I have no idea what type of heather it is and don't know whether it's worth trying to save it as it looks past its best to be honest. Any advice and help will be great fully received.

Hi Jason: It is a good idea to lead questions with your climate zone or location at this forum. I don't, but if you click on the link that says "More Info" below the photo, you'll see which pro posted it on Houzz. You could then message them to ask whether they still have the color/brand on file. I would bet money that the Benjamin Moore store could find you a sage green in their Historic Color palette that is very similar.

The rug should be big enough to slip under the front 1/3 - 1/2 of the sectional and extend past the right and left ends of it by a foot or more. Use blue painter's tape on the floor to tape that out, then measure and buy a rug in the closest size to what your taped rug measures.

Yes a runner would be safer on the stairs. That raised edge (if I am seeing right) is a terrible tripping situation. My good friend had that and it was really bad. Hope you can get that done.

I wouldn't bother trying to save it. It has not been treated well in that container ( probably alack of adequate acidity and no fertilization, no pruning, maybe lack of adequate water) and there is little you can do now to bring it back to any sort of former glory.

In my area, heaths and heathers are sold in great variety and in small, inexpensive sizes. If these are plants you would like to grow, I'd suggest purchasing a new, fresh and well-tended start and plant in the ground, not in a container. An acidic, organically enriched soil in lots of sun and sufficient water early in its life to get it established. And prune back after flowering to keep dense and compact and to encourage more flowering tips.

Hi folks Was wandering if you could give me some tips on growing heather,I bought this Darleydale plant last year nice purple flowers but this winter nothing no flowers the plant looks healthy green minus the flowers what do i need to do am i doing something wrong.Thanks Paul
