Comments (10)Well, sorry about your down sizing. I'm 73 now and we still live in our 2700 sq ft home that we bought new in 1975, No downsizing here, they will carry us outta this place "Feet First", (LOL). And in my garage sits a 1958 Chrysler New Yorker Convertible, Next to it is a 1959 Dodge convertible, and next to that is a 1964 Dodge "Muscle Car" that I bought brand new, 51 years ago, but I digress. I do find it strange, that they can't design kitchens for townhouses/Condos, that can accommodate a wall oven. I mean at our age, (or mine at least), the less stooping the better, and since a lotta folks when they reach their "senior years" downsize, Condos/townhouses should be designed with them in mind. Anyway, since you are "apparently stuck with a range", look for a range that has at least one fully gliding out rack as that will make the oven a lot easier to access that which is inside it. I'm sorry to hear about the Jenn-air, but I would take the time to look at the Electrolux, as it "most likely" has the racks I talked about above. I do think you made an excellent decision to go with induction. We've had our induction cooktop for 7 years now, and you want to know how many times we've had to scrub it in those 7 years? None, Zip Nada!!!! Add to that , the Safety factor, the speed, the controllability, You just can't beat Induction!!!! Good luck on your pending decision, but to be honest, I would still find a way to do a separate Cooktop & Wall oven, even if we had to go to a "smaller oven". Comments (6)I got this range on July 3rd and am very happy so far. I never imagined ordering an appliance sight unseen, but am glad I took the leap. The main reasons I chose this oven over the Bosch, KA and Samsung are: large oven, no overlap of cooking surface on countertops, preferred handles over the KA ones, oven vents in back unlike the Samsung, the controls are on same plane as cooktop, lower drawer has handle unlike Bosch, and I preferred the burner layout. The only cooking and baking functions I have not used so far are convection bake or baking in the lower drawer, but LOVE induction cooking and bake sourdough bread every week and very pleased with results. I use parchment or a paper towel under the pans for most quick cooking tasks- only because I do not want to scratch the surface of this beauty. I expected a steeper learning curve getting used to the controls, but quickly adapted and so has my husband. This oven does take quite awhile to get up to 500 for the bread, but I can live with it. The oven fan is also quieter than I expected. The one strange thing that I don't understand, is why the drawer has 8 large holes in it. It did work very well/quickly to heat bread and imagine as a warming drawer it will work fine for shallow casseroles and pans. These ranges have a four-prong plug so be aware of that. the only differences I know between the JA and KA ranges are the handle options. KA has only the pro style and JA has a pro style and Euro which I wanted to go with our other Bosch appliances. Comments (6)I am having the same issue. Kitchen Aid and Jenn Air are both made by Whirlpool. the total oven size is 7.1. The differences. Kitchen Aid has a wireless probe (of course you can buy that, so that does not matter to me), two oven lights as opposed to 1 in the Jenn Air, the induction eyes are the same with one exception. The left front and back on the Kitchen Aid are both 2500W, the Jenn Air is 2350W. Both are a bridge. When you look into the ovens the convection design appears a little different. The Kitchen Aid has a steam reservoir on one of the racks. Then there are the handles. Kitchen Aid has one choice, pro chef type. Jenn Air has two choices, pro chef type and a European type that is curved. Why did they produce these units that are almost identical? Why a 150W difference on the left rear eye?
