Hi Bill, I have seen mention of this Mapei on other threads and did a google search and came up with a lot of foreign-language links. Who makes it? Or better yet, can you give me a link to a website? (Also, I sent you an email - did you get it? I noticed another tile installation disaster today. Our Master Bath floor has been covered for protection until today when part of it was exposed while the double vanity was installed. The large 16" square honed Calcutta Gold tiles are not centered on any of the walls, so there are really off grout lines at the center of the vanity. It is really obvious and when I think about it I literally want to cry :( . This is our forever house and everywhere I turn, a tile job is done badly. I could really use a good referal!)

Thanks everyone! I didn't think it would so difficult to choose floor tile, wow! All the tiles I showed are porcelain by Surface Art. Individually, I prefer the travertine and slate look ones BUT I think we have so much going on in the kitchen that I think the two quartz-look ones (light grey & dark grey) are the better choices overall for our space. The problem is I wish there were an option that was halfway between the two grey colors! I do like how the dark quartz looks with our other choices, but am having trouble envisioning it in the entire space and am concerned it's dark enough that it would show every little speck and crumb. The light one seems a bit too light, and seems to tend to the blue side at some times of day. I'm heading back to the tile shop now to see if there's an in between option in another tile brand... Linelle -- our cabinets are through a local shop. The name of the stain is "Late Harvest" (on rustic beech, it looks a lot like natural cherry color) and the paint is "shoji white". Lynne The grout is TEC Accucolor Sanded Grout. The bag says it is color number 984 Almond/Sable. It is not self sealing. My husband sealed it before he grouted and then sealed again after grouting. We'll have to reseal periodically to keep the grout clean, but I think it's worth it. Didn't check into self sealing grout before hand. Maybe we should have? ACountryFarm Moving is so exciting and tiring. (With such a large family I assume you at least have plenty of hands on deck!) Soon the boxes and moving will be behind you and you can enjoy your new home. I can't wait to see a photo spread!!!

Wow! I LOVE the choices! I see your concern about the wood tile being close to the walnut... If you put a rug down it will probably be fine. Otherwise a shade lighter on one of the two choices may help. I also see lots of nice bathrooms with dark vanities and dark tiles and they look fine so go with what feels right. I love the pebble. Is that going on the shower floor with the lighter tile sample on the walls?
