No, it's the one on the right. Different lighting and all that, I guess. I did not take the original photo of the samples. What we got did end up looking more like the very first sample I did see, in person. (Then we ordered, and the lots looked like the two in the photo in the first post.) So maybe the photo they took was a little washed out? Who knows.

elizabeth Nothing lives in isolation. Without being confusing and contradicting, you are leaning to ONE palette in art. To one "theme" . Then......in a very cool toned look of those selections of art/wall decor, you are insisting they go over the mantel, where the REST of all trim is still very visible, and the tile surround is also warm. Unhappiness is your result The "playful" selections/pics you posted. may have been or are great on some other wall in that room, or in another spot in your house. Even painted black, that particular spot is begging for SOMETHING with a bit of warmth, no matter if you paint the tile, or re tile, or go back to trim white on the mantel. You are asking about this ONE spot. I gave you three suggestions. .......right? You saw the difference. You recognized that the first problem you missed, that LEAD to the paint job, was in fact the art above the off white mantel. That was best described as an ice cube atop a fire : ) I don't think you want to repaint all the trim in your house. Which...............yes, should have been a cleaner brighter white if the COOL palette is your favorite. Or all of our monitors are lying, or it was the time of day the pic was taken. You can WORK with what you have. Broaden your palette a bit too.

My two cents. They look to be in good shape. You hate the red, you're sick to death of it. I absolutely would stick to a performance velvet. !00 % polyester. I'd do a Schumacher Empress in a heartbeat. You're up against oak trim, red was probably never a great idea. A soft white, warm and deep camel , a deep gray.....a spa green, ........... I've used performance velvet on too many sofas to count, especially in homes with kids in family rooms. A solid is always a best bet - this is what decorative toss pillows are FOR. Don't reinvent a wheel : ) You can have a fabric like this from Pottery Barn for as little as 30.00 a yard.... or a Schumacher online for 75.00 . !00,00 double rubs wear factor. You'll be dead before you wear it out. You buy whatever the upholsterer says you NEED, and it should include an extra few yards to skip any potential flaw, and some left for you for ...who knows what -it's always wise. More than a few online sources for it on line. All are basically 75 a yard....that's VERY moderate btw Even Chairish has it : ) Note...... ASK ANY DESIGNER. In these times: supply chains, mills, and the fact that MANY of these fabrics come from China? Especially all those in the performance category? Get your head around working with the best of what you can have. I've lost count of the hours spent chasing goods. Of any type. .............just believe it. New sofas? HA, Start from 30 to 38 weeks to anything half decent and just as long for junk like Crate and Barrel. ( yes, it is junk ) Where you will be limited to very basic colors, anyway. Omg I LOVE Rookwood tiles! Yours are just gorgeous. Yeah, situation with the contractor is bizarre! Rookwood is fabulous. I spoke with their designers and they were able to design the layout fo the tiles for me based on my budget and what I was wanting with the roses and leaves. It's not bizarre. it's either that he hasn't a clue how to lay tile or more likely doesn't want to spend the money on a talented tile installer. My tile installation if I recall took a full day just for the tiles. Then grouting took another bit of time.
