Comments (9)Its only my second time there in 20-some years. My wife's family used to go there every summer for the month of August, and shortly after we started dating her family had a large reunion trip to the island. It happened to be the first time I met any of her family, and there sure were a lot of them. That trip (which was in August, years ago) the weather was mostly good, this trip the weather was cold, windy and rainy. So by my scientific sampling the weather is rotten about 50% of the time. Comments (13)Stacy, I have more time now, and thus, here it is: I started by browning the brats, added chopped garlic, and carrot slices, then the chopped up cabbage simmered all for a bit, then added chicken stock. That's the stock I had at hand. simmered till the whole house smelled yummy... ;) I had one package of sausage, I think it was 6 a BUNCH of garlic, almost a whole garlic I think it was 4 large carrots and there were two heads of cabbage, and finally 1 container of chicken stock Hope this helps. 10 years agoYeah, I am getting help in the back yard. The Asplundh Tree Expert Co. is out cutting tree limbs in the neighborhood to help with electric lines and branches.
This tree is actually on the neighbors lot, but totally overhangs my
back corner. This guy is up there trimming. :) YEAH!

10 years agoA cattle egret takes flight. They are one of the few introduced birds that didn't wreak havoc on native birds species, probably in part because they claimed a different feeding niche.
10 years agoGreat pictures today. Nicole, I love how you caught the sawdust in the air!! Mine is a pesky squirrel sitting on a bird feeder. I took it through the window so it looks kind of blurry.
