Thank you, Sutherland, for your reply and information. I looked up Mme. Edouard Herriot on www.helpmefind.com/roses and compared that rose to the rose named Daily Mail Scented Rose. I don't think they are the same rose. Mme. Herriot won an award in 1922, but Daily Mail Scented Rose was not bred until 1927, by William ARcher and daughter. It was also a very popular rose in the UK if not the most popular rose for awhile. It is said to have a damask fragrance. Also in all the pictures I've seen of it it is a deep garnet red. It is unavailable in the US and the nursery I wrote to in Australia didn't reply to me. Oh well, there are other fine reds..I ended up ordering a Fields of the Woods. Green or is it Dale? As far as choosing a reputable online nursery. Well, there's always GW...asking people if they ordered from 'x' nursery and their opinions. Second..have you heard of Gardenwatchdog? You can check a nursery's feedback there. Go to www.gardenwatchdog.com click on first letter of nursery, scroll down until you find the name, then click...99% is honest feedback. Shipping...It's true, there are shipping charges, 'sometimes free shipping though,' but unless a nursery happens to be in the state you reside, it's tax-less. Our county tax is, if not one, the highest in the US. Some people on Ebay offer free shipping, others charge a small fee..Of course, there are some sellers who take advantage, charge over-priced handling fees. Those I avoid. Also, there's hundreds if not thousands rare plants you can only find online. Never locally. A very BIG plus buying online. :) Nope, you're not cheap, you're cautious. These days, you must be careful. One reason it's best finding reputable nurseries..where people you've talked to shopped or checking Gardenwatchdog. Mike, I believe we got our Ag's around the same time..definately, same month. Yours arrived a few days to a week after mind. I think it was Robert who got me started w/Ags..it's all his fault..lol. j/k. Toni

barbara_ag, Our Walmarts had several Fire Opals on clearance last fall. I snatched up 3 for about 3.00 each. Check your walmarts. They remind me of the Austin Belle Story. They are really pretty. I definitely think Lowes and H. Depo should sell David Austin Roses here in NE Florida. They would sell like hotcakes here, especially if the were blooming and the employees were actually watering them. I think a major turn off for customers is seeing all these roses that are half dead/dried out and no one is dead heading them so there's dead flowers everywhere. I see dirt out of pots, roots sticking out every which way. Lots of crispy critters. Now who wants to buy that? OK, maybe just us plant/rose psychos that actually feel sorry for the roses but most customers do not! Is Lowes even listening to all this..probably not soooo.... ~Sjn

Larisa, I forgot to mention, the reason I asked Henkel about their Persil Sensitive fragrance situation, is because if someone is trying to avoid chemicals in fragrance as a whole, it is also good to avoid masking fragrance, which can possibly use MORE chemicals. I use traditional products since green ones didn't clean to my standards, but I still prefer limiting unnecessary ingredients. I have 5 little girls and my youngest has previously reacted to Tide Original liquid. Fragrance is full of hormone- disrupting, cancer-causing chemicals that companies do not have to disclose due to trade secret laws. Fragrance as an ingredient can contain 100+ different ingredients itself. I'm really not liking the way Henkel states "Perfume-free" on Persil's label, but "fragrance" is an ingredient. So, perfume is not fragrance now? I'm sure it's legal due to loose laws, but it's misleading. I just expect better from a company I'm supporting. Okay, end rant. Surf was recently purchased by Henkel (over a year ago, I think). So, if anyone currently uses Surf, don't be surprised if it changes. Or, maybe it has already changed and is worth trying again? I FB'd Henkel a few days ago to ask if "all Oxi" liquid has been changed. They stated that it hasn't undergone any recent changes. Well, it smells entirely different. I sniffed it at the store yesterday after reading an inquiry about it here. I have also read complaints in various other places, including their Facebook page. Someone else publically inquired, and they received the same answer I received. I asked about WHEN it was last changed, but they didn't respond to that part of my question. I tried "all Oxi" after going to a fire station open house and seeing that our local firemen use it. The fire station tours are really nice for laundry room creeps like me. Actually, their W/D is right out in the open, so I wasn't creeping around at all, LOL. Anyway, I'm not sure what to think of this (or any of these companies anymore really), because I trust that my nose knows.
