Good morning all: Well, we went with two 100" Madison leather sofas in Brompton Cocoa from Casco Bay Furniture and they arrived last Thursday, several weeks before expected. We LOVE them! Our sofas were estimated to take about 16 weeks as the size was custom so frames had to be built from new pattern. In addition, Rob was kind enough to send us several hide samples from amongst the numerous they have at the warehouse so we could choose the color we liked. This too was supposed to add to the time and we were thinking a delivery time in May but last Thursday they arrived right on time. My family and I could not be happier. They look EXACTLY like RH Maxwell sofas. I understand that the ones from CB are superior in construction to the ones currently made in China by RH, but since we have only had them one week I can only tell you what they look and feel like. They are beautiful now and we are looking forward to seeing how they "weather" over time. My husband literally started on one end of one sofa, got up, moved down a little, all the way to the end of the second sofa to see if there was any sagging or lifting of cushions: there was none. When we went to the RH Outlet in Wrentham in December/January we sat on several 96"and 108" Lancaster and Maxwell sofas and found the sagging, and if one person sat on the end of one cushion with no one else in the middle, it would lift like a see-saw. The sofas on the floors of RH retail showrooms are most often over 5 years old from when they were constructed in the US: the ones at the Outlets are more consistent with quality of product if ordered today as they are typically customer returns. I am more than happy to share where this stuff came from and am extremely flattered. The rug is the "Brice" rug from Pottery Barn, 9 X 12. The sectional is made by Jonathan Louis. It is called "Knobhill" and the fabric is called Basil Flannel. I got it at a local furniture store but I saw somewhere that Jonathan Louis furniture might be available at Macy's. The website has a dealer locator: http://jonathanlouis.net/. One armchair is coming this evening. I am going to arrange it all again and post another photo. This is immensely helpful and I am just sorry that I can't try every suggestion! Have a spare small desk in the garage, and will try whatever else I can get my patient DH to do. To make things more complicated, I found out that I can order another piece for the sectional. Since I bought the floor model I didn't think of it before. It will seamlessly extend the longer side another 28". That side will def. have to go against the wall (as in the first photos), but the room will be filled out a little more. Yet another option! I think I have decided against exchanging for a sofa/loveseat. One more question: when moving the sofa away from the wall, how far should it be? Just enough to balance things, or enough for an acutal person to pass through?

Hi DBug! I have the PB Square upholstered sofa w/ chaise and the PB Comfort upholstered sectional. The Comfort has deeper seating than the Square. If I remember correctly, it's only 5 or so inches deeper but made a difference to us as I wanted a row of continuous pillows to make it extra comfy. You kind of just sink into it. The wedge corner piece on the sectional adds to the comfort. My husband and guests on the taller side notice it is more roomy as well. Your comment about looking into slipcovered sofas reminded me that before I got the pb Square, I bought two of their slipcovers to put over my old sofas and they were great. Slipped a bit but they weren't made for those sofas. Have you seen the pb slipcovered sofas in person? They look nice and I'd bet they're wonderful! Good luck! Obviously I've spent way too much time obsessing over buying sofas so if you have any other questions on fabrics or configurations let me know! Got back on to add that even though their stuff can be expensive, the thing that always makes me go back is their customer service. The wedge's cushion on our newer sectional looked like the fabric wasn't sewn right as it was rather "loose" looking. They replaced it, no problem. I know other places have great service too but I'm a creature of habit and stick with something if I know it's good!

After much debate between Century, Taylor King and Vanguard, we ended up with the Vanguard Envision. The deciding factors were mainly size and arm style, although comfort and fabric options also played a role. All three were nice to sit on but we preferred the sloped track arm that only Vanguard offered. The Century would have been our next choice but it was much larger, about 10" in each direction, and we felt it might overwhelm our space. We ordered it from Lexington Furniture, who beat local prices by over $1000. Total cost in a Grade 26 fabric (no decorative upgrades) was $5500. It arrived yesterday and we LOVE IT. Just need to repaint the room and get a new rug! :)
