stainless steel fridge streak line?
Comments (49)Was searching for help on how to remove a streak like this ( see attached) on my Kitchen aid Refrigerator. I’ve only tried SS cleaners. Obviously, it did nothing. I don’t even know what caused this. I’ve read several posts who recommend Barkeepers. Are you using the powder or liquid? I’m scared it will scratch the SS. I understand you must rub with the grain, but, seriously, will it remove this kind of streak? Help!...See MoreGE Profile Stainless Steel Fridge Door Warping
Comments (2)There have been a few other posters on this forum who have also had this problem. If I remember correctly, they all had the doors replaced. I am not sure if the store made the arrangements or the consumer. Try a search and see what comes up. G...See MoreYour stainless steel fridge - question
Comments (18)We've had ours for almost 2 years now with 2 now-teens and 2 rambunctious dogs and we're not a careful family (hear you on having a "lived in" home!)...no dents or scratches yet! Our refrigerator opens on a narrow aisle (32" or so) and is directly in the path b/w the Kitchen and the DR/LR/Office (DR is only table space) so there's a lot of traffic. Even though I have teens in and out of the refrigerator all the time, we don't have a problem w/fingerprints either. We use Weissman SS Cleaner/Polish or Pledge in the brown can and they both seem to discourage fingerprints. OTOH, our white refrigerator eventually started looking grungy no matter how much I wiped it down...and white shows everything! I am much happier with SS than I was with white! Chicagoans...is the only drawer in you refrigerator the bottom drawer? I was wondering b/c ours has 2 crisper drawers that only need one open door to pull out. The meat/deli drawer on the bottom is full-width, so we have to open both doors to access it, but we don't open it nearly as often and I like the option for longer items and the fact that you don't lose space to the drawer glides & additional drawer walls. Drawer configuration is something for others to definitely look into when shopping for a refrigerator, good idea to mention it....See MoreStainless steel oven, white dishwasher/fridge/microwave?
Comments (7)Since a kitchen is rather expensive, I would get it the way I really like it, even if it costs a bit more at first. So you might want to determine how you feel about the stainless steel. Is it really something you do not like? Then get the white one and spend that 1K extra. On the other hand you might be able to make it work for you with some stainless steel accents elsewhere in the kitchen? Maybe some bowls, a vase, and/or a stainless steel faucet? Or go for drawers that do need handles and get some sleek stainless steel ones? If you somehow do like the stainless steel, you could also try to sell the white appliances, if you feel you have too many of those then. After only three years you might still get a decent amount for them. How long are you planning to live there? Will the new kitchen help sell the place for a good price later on? Saving a bit now, might cost a lot in pleasure and/or return later on. Hope this helps....See MoreFive Star Painting of Austin
