WELL, WELL, WELL... PUMP
Comments (33)Dealer called...they have ordered a motor, timer, and springs.. (((sigh))) they will not file a claim for a replacement washer. They said my warranty covers **repairs* not replacement unless the service tech finially says I don't know what's wrong and I don't know how to fix it...he won't say that...sooo..they will install new parts. They are correct that the warranty is a repair warranty. Dadoes what do you think... Friction ring Milk stool Base plate Pump Belt Motor Timer Springs What's left? I don't know what to think...I suppose if I'm left with a correctly working machine that will be good..but I keep thinking ...if a car is totaled than rebuilt its never the same again...wonder if that's what will happen to this washer....See MorePlanted two camellias, one growing well and one not so well
Comments (6)The USDA has at least parts of Baltimore as zone 7b, but it's still a fair question if the landscaper has experience with this variety doing well there. My suspicion is that the 'Yuletide' that isn't doing well was planted too deeply, but there are other possibilities that need to be investigated (root-chewing critters, planted too far from irrigation source, etc.) Since some of the plant seems to be fine while the rest looks like dead wood, I also wonder if part of the plant got damaged somehow... herbicide drift or something falling on the plant? It can take a while for camellias to "show" that they've been damaged, so the connection might not be obvious. I agree that if the dead wood gets cut out, the plant will probably survive if babied in a pot, but that's not what you paid for. If your landscaper put the camellia in improperly, they should replace it for you. Good luck, Virginia...See MoreMost doing well, one not doing well
Comments (5)Sempervivum will likely survive, but yes, it would have been better outdoors. It may not look that great until Spring when it really should go outdoors. Winter is when they 'sleep' and just like bears or other animals, hibernate below snow. If my plant, I would just try to keep it in colder spot if you can - like unheated porch or similar. They are alpine plants and genetically programmed to spend winters outdoor. It is stretching some, probably wants to grow since it is in warm indoors, and wants more light....See MoreWhat Veggie is Doing Well/Not so Well?
Comments (13)OK, here are some grape pics. The trellis below is a Modified Munson design about 11’ long with two vines – a 5-year-old Somerset on the left and a Himrod on the right planted July 2019 from a pot.I made the trellis with folding arms, but fixed would be fine for me. Modified Munson Trellis I kept 3 bunches of Himrod grapes so I could try them. Some somerset grapes. The bags to protect the fruit are organza bags and are about 90% effecitve gainst 4 and 6 legged things. An example: https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B01LCKOCD2/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_search_asin_title?ie=UTF8&psc=1 This tree will come out and the new treliis will go here. There is 12’ between the (sparse) Lilac bushes. I plan to build a trellis of about 9’ for just one vine. My others are getting very crowded depite most places recommending 6’ per vine. I also plan to make the trellis entirely out of steel this time with fixed arms. You can see how poorly this tree is doing compared to the one on the left planted the same time. My thinking right now is that the new vine will be St Theresa aka Montreal Blues....See MoreRelated Professionals
