Need help in choosing wall color for espresso wood floor for dark room

I am painting a first floor condo whose wooden floors are a dark espresso color. The unit gets almost no light whatsoever and am looking for a color that would brighten up the home. From the online searches I've done I see that a light mauve color would be a great choice - I am told mauve is a light purple. I also see that yellows would be a great choice, but I think a light mauve would be better. Any advice I receive would be Much appreciate it. I am looking to sell the unit and would like something that livens up the unit. Many many thanks.

I'm thinking a light adobe or other neutral would be better than mauve or yellow for a re-sale.

When buyers see mauve, they see "pink" or "purple", & yellows, even my favorite buttercream, just won't go with everyone's furniture & decor.

I agree. Do not use mauve. I think BenjaminMoore Indian White would work.

This home doesn't say modern and I wouldn't push you to force that on the home. This house says comfort, I would go for warm natural wood tones on your flooring. What ??? If I understand tile is on the main floor and this questio is for the seconf floor where the bedrooms are.I think it will depend on the color of the tile on the lower floor as you will be having the 2 floors meet at the bottom of the stairs. Some pictures would be abig help BTW. Maybe look a vinyl plank and do the stirs in a tile to match the lower floor I awys thin stairs look best done to match the lower level and then the floor cange change at the top of the stairs. We need pictures of the furniture too.

Swatching colors side by side on the old color doesn't really help. You need need white poster board painted the colors you are looking at with a white edge around it. Then you move them around the room during different times of the day to see the color in the space. OR you can order from Samplize to try colors. I would try the Prussian Blue in your rooms as suggested. I think it is going to way to bright.
