White or stainless dishwasher?
Comments (14)I really don't think I'm going to replace the other appliances, though. I inherited my refrigerator from my mom, it was less then a year and half old. It was bought in August 2005 and is a Kenmore Elite. I replaced my stove with a white smoothtop two years ago. Well, the smoothtop is black speckled and the rest is white. I went with white because the refrigerator and OTR microwave were white. One month after I got a new stove the microwave went out and I replaced it with a convection one that is also white. So they are all fairly new and I would feel silly replacing them. I don't really mind the white. My house in not high end at all so I don't think that matters....See MoreWhite dishwasher in stainless kitchen?
Comments (7)I'm not replacing my white DW until it dies so I'm planning on painting it with Thomas stainless steel paint . I've read a lot of reviews and watched a lot of videos online about it and I haven't really come across anything negative. And they sell clear black plastic overlays for the control panel, too. And the kit is only $25 plus $9 for the overlay. Even if it doesn't end up looking as nice as the pictures and videos show, it would look a LOT NICER than your current plan, imho....See MoreStainless steel appliances of different brands next to each other?
Comments (12)Typo on the grades I listed, 302 not 392. My personal opinion on SS: -refrigerator/microwave:doesn't matter, limited chemicals in contact -range: probably doesn't matter; more chemicals employed in keeping clean -dishwasher/washer/dryer: presence of bleach and detergent makes better grades a plus for long term ease of retaining appearance; not sure it matters for all brands since the internal mechanicals of select brands will be shot long before the exterior finish is compromised; in commercial versions 201, 301, 302, and 304 dominate; 316 had in roads on commercial dishwashers 20-25 yrs ago...See MoreBlack Stainless Steel Range with all other Sst appliances
Comments (2)I second Anglophilia's statement about not using an OTR microwave.I have one in my current kitchen and this is one of the 3 reasons why I am remodelling it. Hate hate hate it. There is no venting ( except me in saying how much I hate it.) I don't want to cook anything which is seared or is a strong smelling (which is everything, froom steak to fish and curries) as it sticks around forever. And we haven't even gotten into addressing the grease issue. As for your other question yes, you can do black and make it a focal point but find another place for the mw and get something that vents to the outdoors....See MoreLindsay White
