I have spray painted a ceiling light bases in place. One was a cracked white porceleine fixture in the kitchen that I sprayed red. I masked off the ceiling iwth tape and newspaper, stuck newspaper into the fixture (after removing the globe) and also held a big piece of cardboard behind when I sprayed. It looks awesome. The cracked porceleine reminded me of a broken toilet, but in red it looks all new and pretty! the second was a groovy 60s globe light ceiling base that was black and I sprayed it silver. I sprayed both with kilz primer first. I also sprayed some accents on my kitchen clock red to match. I sprayed my wicker chairs that I got at Kings dept store 30 years ago brown. Now I have to touch them up every year, but they do look nice on the front porch. I wish i had known about the spray stain, maybe that would have lasted better. I think that most other furniture I would brush for the sake of durability. Except plastic lawn furniture which there is a special spray paint for. Have fun. Kathy

newhomebuilder, I'm taking a look at the new beach club but felt the need to caution you first about buying Scentsy wax on ebay. You have no idea how old it is and unless it's kept in the freezer, it's "intended" use can be as short as 4-5 months depending on how it was stored. It will still have fragrance but be weaker. Which peach scent have you found and I'll try to figure out when was the last time it was offered (but it could be older than that). It might be something that hasn't been for sale for a year or longer! I'd hate for you to be disappointed with your first Scentsy experience. Tell me what you like and I'll try to make some suggestions...of course everyone's nose is different! The last peach fragrance I remember is Posey Peach

I'm surprised that no one has mentioned fragrance lamps. These are smaller glass lamps that you fill with fragrance oils, light for 5 minutes and then blow out the flame. The oil will burn and take odors out of your home and leave a pleasant scent. The Lampe Berger system includes the catalyst (burner) and the catalyst medium (home fragrances). According to Lampe Berger, the catalytic combustion is a flameless combustion, which takes place because of the action of a catalyst. Odor-causing molecules in the room are attraced to the heat developed by the catalysis. The heat then breaks down these molecules through oxidation and prevents them from recombining. A Berger lamp is different from other types of air fresheners in that a Berger lamp actually eliminates the odor, instead of just masking it. Also, a Berger lamp actively cleans the air, also something normal air fresheners donâÂÂt do. You may be curious where Berger lamps originate from. Berger lamps were invented by Maurice Berger in the early twentieth century. Berger lamps were considered a disinfecting home appliance. Through a unique process of high temperature catalytic combustion, Berger lamps eliminates and destroys the molecules behind unpleasant odors such as cigarette smoke and cooking while pleasantly perfuming the air and destroying bacteria. You do have to follow a certain protocol when burning these or you'll burn up your wick. The top cap can get hot, so I always keep mine on a high shelf. The brands of lamps are numerous as are the oils. I buy mine at the link below, the off brand lamps work fine. I find all of the oils very strong so I mix them half and half in the lamp with 91% rubbing alcohol (available at Walmart). Do NOT use anything except the 91%. I am a bit on the fence with this one........I can see a validity in both viewpoints :-) The detergent and cleaning product aisle at the grocery store does bother me and I have to circle widely around places like Yankee Candles or Bath and Body Works at the mall to avoid the smell (IMO, they reek!!). But I do not mind and usually enjoy a light scent on both males and females - a mild floral or citrus-based or spicy scent is IMO very pleasant and sure as heck beats BO, which I seem to encounter just as often. Or someone reeking of garlic, which seems to emanate out of their pores as well as their breath!! I typically wear a scent as well but it is eau de toilette, not perfume, so quite dilute and light. I am constantly getting compliments on it, so it must be appealing to a lot of people :-) I do not wear it if visiting a medical office or in a confined space (movie theaters, lectures, etc). And when visiting my hair dresser, as she does not like scents. That surprises me as she has to deal with some pretty nasty scents, like perm neutralizing solution!! And I like scent inside my house......but it has to be the right scent :-) I can't tolerate some flowers close up - oriental lilies and paperwhites for sure. But anything lemon or citrus scented is fine and lemon verbena or vervaine is my first choice for any sort of scented product. But I just have issues with anyone dictating my personal choices.
