Comments (6)aw come on guys... call it bob.. and bob's your uncle ... you MIGHT get an ID in the conifer forum ... its not a true cypress nor a true cedar ..... and common names wont get you anywhere ... those peeps will need a location ... and a closeup of the needles ... and i am talking about getting the cultivar name.. not just species ... ken BTW.. prince ruperectii is a larix.. jeesh .. lol ... Comments (10)The photos do resemble Prunus serotina leaves and growth pattern, but I am honestly not familiar with ornamental cherries in the same way since most are at best borderline hardy here. So if no one says it does look like an ornamental, it is most likely P. serotina. Mine haven't leafed out fully yet, but I can take photos in a couple of weeks for comparison. P serotina have a couple of glands at the base of the leaf by or on the leaf stem, but I don't know if they are visible at this stage of development and they are tiny. You can do an image search with "Prunus serotina leaf gland" to see them...See Morewhat is the name of this bush or tree with the red berries please ?
