Round Pedestal Dinging Table

Christina Martin

Hello and thanks in advance for any and all input!

I need to replace our dining table. We bought it when we were first married, thought anything Henredon meant it would last 'forever' but had zero clue about what type of wood actually lasts. Long story, our dining table is made of pine and it's completely and totally chipped and scratched (and not in a cool, vintage-y kind of way).

I'm contemplating buying the Bernhardt Haven Pedestal dining table (not the one with the metal legs). It's made of 'figured flat cut walnut veneers.' Bottom line - is this thing going to look horrible in 5 years or am I going to get longer wear out of it? What can I expect out of walnut veneers? I've heard pretty good things about Bernhardt furniture in the past, but I have no idea if that's legit or not.

Thank you!
