GASP!! My brand new Seed Pod has fallen off! can I save it??
Comments (4)Sorry to say but at such a young age, that seedpod should really be a goner. If it was almost to full size (like 8 months along) I would say you could save it. As far as that caterpillar...it is a Saddleback Caterpillar. be careful..this one hurts http://www.whatsthiscaterpillar.co.uk/america/popups/picture115.htm it has poisonous spines on four large projections and many smaller ones that stick out from the sides of its body. The "saddle" consists of an oval purplish-brown spot in the middle of a green patch on the back. Saddleback caterpillars feed on the leaves of basswood, chestnut, cherry, plum, oak, and other trees and shrubs Here is a link that might be useful:...See MoreFallen off the wagon
Comments (25)Ha!!! I was wondering if anybody would notice! Believe it or not that fridge is now TWENTY ONE years old!! It's a refrigerator "only" SubZero which is really meant to have the matching full size freezer standing next to it, but of course we could only fit the fridge. The four crisper/meat drawer go all the way to the back of the refrigerator so they hold a ton and each are deep enough for a big head of lettuce, melon etc... Back in 88 I was struggling with fitting food for a us and three boys (with a fourth on the way) into the used Kenmore that we had bought when we first got married. It was a constant juggling act to fit in enough food to keep from shopping every couple of days. Then one day I saw this floor model SubZero that they were discounting at the appliance distributor store. I sold the Kenmore for $50.00, DH Joe rebuilt the cabinets above the space so it is built in, and we stained a panel to match the cabinets. I have a freezer in our laundry room which is next to the kitchen. I figured how often did I really need to get in the freezer?? I've never regretted it though it does often give folks pause when they first go to look for ice if they're new to the house! I've only had TWO repairs on the fridge in 21 years... one of which was just last fall and it was fixed in a day. With four sons, you can imagine the workout that it has undergone on the door handle alone!! The shelves look like new, the crisper drawers are still beautiful.... everything comes out easily to get washed down when needed... I can't say enough about the quality of Subzero. Comments (13)Sounds like Dr Huey to me. Get rid of it and replace it with a repeat bloomer suitable for your local environment. Ask neighbours what grows well for them if you are not sure. If you like Dr Huey, cut it right back after blooming so that it puts out flowering canes.:-)...See MoreWhy did all the leaves fall off 1 of 2 of my newly planted rose bush
Comments (25)Yeah that sounds like a good idea Sheila...I never thought of something like that? How do those work exactly? And Seil I didn't plant in cardboard as in 'packaging the Rose came in' I mean I had moving style boxes I broke down and then I wet them down really good to put under mulch along the slope to deter weeds. I made sure to leave about 5" or so around each plant bare with a little mulch. I did however leave the soil on it when I planted, I didn't try to make bareroot? You think that could've caused it? I just want to know how to save these ...also it rained last night...not sure how hard because it ended at least an hour or two before I woke up so when I stuck finger in soil down so deep that I had no finger left! It felt pretty moist all the way down...but idk how much rain feel so idk if that could happen from the rain we just had overnight? And today has been overcast with next to no sun all day..so sun wasn't out to dry it out....See MoreRelated Professionals
